The FortiVoice Enterprise 100E package includes:

The appliance features a front panel with PWR, HDD, CONSOLE, USB ports, and four Ethernet ports (1-4). The back panel includes a console port, USB ports, Ethernet ports, and a DC power connection.

Connecting to FortiVoice

You can configure the FortiVoice appliance via its web pages (web UI) or the command line interface (CLI). Refer to the FortiVoice Enterprise Phone System Administration Guide for detailed setup instructions.

Connecting via Web UI

Browser requirements: Internet Explorer 7+, Firefox 3.5+, Safari 4+, and Adobe Flash Player 9+.

  1. Connect the appliance's port1 to your computer using the provided Ethernet cable.
  2. Configure your computer's network settings to match the appliance's default port1 subnet (e.g., IP address: 192.168.1.2, Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0).
  3. Open a web browser and navigate to https://192.168.1.99/admin.
  4. Enter "admin" in the Name field, leave the Password field blank, and click Login.

Connecting via CLI

  1. Connect the FortiVoice console port to your computer using the console cable.
  2. Start a terminal emulation program (e.g., PuTTY) with the following settings: Serial line: COM1, Baud Rate: 9600, Data bits: 8, Parity: None, Stop bits: 1, Flow Control: None.
  3. Press Enter to connect to the CLI.
  4. Enter "admin" in the Name field, leave the Password blank, and press Enter.

After connecting, use the quick start wizard to configure basic network and PBX settings.

Powering Off the Appliance

Always shut down the operating system before turning off power to prevent data loss.

Technical Specifications

The FortiVoice Enterprise 100E features the following interfaces:

Interface Type Protocol Description
Ethernet Ports 1 - 4 RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) Ethernet ports for connection to your network and the Internet.
USB Ports USB-A USB 2.0 Reserved for future use.
Console RJ-45 RS-232 serial Optional connection to the management computer. Provides access to the CLI.
Power Connection 19 V DC 2.1A 40W

The unit has Power (PWR) and Hard Disk (HDD) LEDs on the front panel.

LED Specifications

LED State Description
PWR Green The unit is on.
HDD Flashing amber Activity on the hard disk drive.
Ethernet Port Activity (Left LED) Yellow Port is active.
Flashing yellow Port is transmitting and receiving data.
Off No cable is connected to the port.
Ethernet Port Speed (Right LED) Green Port is connected at 1Gbps.
Amber Port is connected at 100 Mbps.
Off Port is connected at 10 Mbps.
