Environmental Specifications
- Rack Mount Instructions: Follow provided instructions for rack installation.
- Elevated Operating Ambient: If installed in a closed or multi-unit rack, the ambient temperature may be higher than room ambient. Ensure compatibility with the manufacturer's specified maximum ambient temperature (Tma).
- Reduced Air Flow: Ensure installation in a rack does not compromise necessary air flow for safe operation.
- Mechanical Loading: Mount equipment in a rack to avoid hazardous conditions due to uneven loading.
- Circuit Overloading: Consider the supply circuit connection and potential effects of overloading on protection and wiring. Use equipment nameplate ratings.
- Surge Protection: Take precautions when connecting to the power circuit, paying attention to surge effects.
- Earthing: Ensure reliable earthing for rack-mounted equipment, especially for connections not directly to the branch circuit (e.g., power strips). A separate protective earthing terminal is provided on the back panel, requiring connection with a green/yellow stripe conductor (#14 AWG minimum) by qualified personnel.
Safety
- Restricted Access: Equipment is intended for installation in Restricted Access Locations.
- Battery Safety: Risk of explosion if battery is replaced with an incorrect type. Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.

- Water Proximity: Do not use the product near water (e.g., bathtub, sink, laundry tub, wet basement, swimming pool).
- Electrical Storms: Avoid using the telephone during electrical storms due to a remote risk of electric shock from lightning.
- Gas Leaks: Do not use the telephone to report gas leaks.
- Power Cord/Batteries: Use only specified power cords and batteries. Follow disposal instructions.
- Line Cords: Use UL Listed or CSA Certified Telecommunication Line Cords (No. 26 AWG or larger, e.g., 24 AWG) to reduce fire risk.
- Interconnecting Cables: Cables between the development kit and LCD touch screen monitor must be rated min. 60°C, min. 30 Vdc , marked VW-1 or FT-1, and not exceed 3.05m.
