General Installation Guidelines
Use these dimensions and clearance instructions for planning purposes only. For detailed installation instructions, refer to installation guide, packed with product, or on the web at frigidaire.com.
Clearances and Space Requirements
General Clearances:
- Rear: Allow 1" minimum clearance at the rear for proper air circulation and water/electrical connections.
- Sides and Top: Allow 3/8" minimum clearance at the sides and top for ease of installation.
Door Swing Clearance:
- When installing the refrigerator directly adjacent to a wall, cabinet, or other appliance that extends beyond the front edge of the unit, a minimum clearance is required for the door to open.
- Recommended: 20" minimum clearance to allow for an optimum 140° door swing, providing complete crisper access and removal.
- Absolute Minimum: 3" clearance will only allow for a 90° door swing, which will provide limited crisper access with restricted removal.
Installation Adjacent to Walls/Cabinets:
- When installing an appliance with a sliding drawer, swinging, or drop-down door directly across from obstructions, provide sufficient clearance for drawer extension or door swings.
- When installing an appliance with a sliding drawer or drop-down door adjacent to a wall, cabinet, or other obstruction that extends beyond the front edge of the appliance, allow 2" minimum clearance between the drawer or door and the obstruction.
Installation with Cooking Appliances:
- When installing built-in cooking appliances in combination, a 2"-high minimum visible gap between appliance faceplates is required.
- When installing a ventilation unit above a cooking product, provide 30" to 36" clearance between the cooking surface and the bottom of the ventilator.

Installation Environment Recommendations
- To ensure optimum performance, do not install in areas where the temperature drops below 55°F or rises above 110°F.
- Avoid installing in direct sunlight or close proximity to a range, dishwasher, or other heat source.
- For proper ventilation, the front grille MUST remain unobstructed.
- Recess electrical outlets when possible.
Water and Electrical Requirements
- An electrical supply with a grounded three-prong receptacle is required. The power supply circuit must be installed in accordance with the current edition of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and local codes & ordinances.
- Voltage Rating: 120V/60 Hz/15 or 20 Amps.
- Floor should be a level surface of hard material, capable of supporting the fully loaded refrigerator.
- Water Pressure: Cold water line must provide between 30 and 100 pounds per square inch (psi).
- Copper tubing with 1/4" O.D. is recommended for the water supply line. The length should be equal to the distance from the rear of the unit to the household water supply line plus 7 additional feet. Optional Water Supply Installation Kits are available.
- Water recess on the rear wall is recommended to prevent water line damage.
Diagram Descriptions
Main Refrigerator Dimensions: The refrigerator has a height (A) of 66-5/8 inches (including hinges & rollers), a width (B) of 30 inches, and a depth (C) including the door of 30-1/8 inches. The depth with the door open 90° is 58-1/2 inches.
Top View Clearance Diagram: This diagram illustrates the space needed around the refrigerator. It shows 1" clearance at the rear for air circulation and water/electrical connections, and 3/8" clearance at the sides and top for installation. It also indicates the location of recessed water and electrical outlets.
Door Swing Clearance Diagram: This diagram shows that a minimum 90° door opening is required, with an optimal 140° opening recommended for full access. It highlights that installing the refrigerator close to a wall or obstruction requires additional clearance (20" recommended for 140° swing, 3" absolute minimum for 90° swing) to prevent the door from hitting the obstruction and to allow for crisper access.
Kitchen Installation Diagram (Front View): This diagram depicts the refrigerator integrated into a kitchen layout with other appliances like built-in ovens, ranges, and dishwashers. It shows required clearances between these appliances and for ventilation above cooking surfaces (30"-36"). It also indicates a 2" minimum gap between appliance faceplates when installed in combination.
Kitchen Installation Diagram (Top View): This diagram shows the refrigerator positioned within kitchen cabinets, illustrating the 12" cabinets on either side and the required clearances (1" rear, 3/8" sides/top). It also shows clearances for other built-in appliances like dishwashers and drawers.
