General Instructions
Before You Start
Carefully check the pack to ensure all parts are present. Before starting assembly, gather the necessary tools (not supplied), which typically include a Phillips screwdriver, Stanley knife, wood saw, step ladder, hammer, and a 2mm drill bit. Ensure you have ample space and a clean, dry area for assembly.
Timber Care
Timber is a natural material and can be affected by weather conditions. Swelling may occur during heavy rain, and warping due to moisture loss during dry spells is also possible. While these effects cannot be entirely avoided, they can be managed. It is recommended to spray the building with water during extended warm, sunny periods and shelter it from heavy rain or snow. The buildings are pre-treated with a water-based treatment for protection during transit and for up to 3 months against mould. To ensure the longevity of your product and validate your guarantee, it is essential to treat the building with a wood preserver within the first three months of assembly and thereafter according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Ensure the product is placed on a suitable base.
Building a Base
When choosing a location for your building and base:
- Ensure access to all sides for maintenance and annual treatment.
- The base must be level and built on firm ground to prevent distortion.
- The base should be slightly smaller than the external measurement of the building, allowing cladding to overlap the base for water run-off.
- It is recommended that the floor be at least 25mm above the surrounding ground level to prevent flooding.
Types of Base
- Concrete: 75mm laid on top of 75mm hard-core.
- Slabs: Laid on 50mm of sharp sand.
Safety Information
All products are manufactured to high safety standards and, for children's products, independently tested to EN71 level. However, Mercia Garden Products cannot accept responsibility for your safety during erection or use of this product. Refer to the instructions pages for your specific product code.

Assembly Steps
Pre Assembly
Remove the transportation blocks from the bottom of each panel before beginning assembly. Each panel should have 2x blocks.
Step 1: Attach Doors to Gable
Place the doors (No. 4) into the door gable (No. 1), ensuring there is an even gap around the doors. Secure each door to the gable using 2x T hinges (No. 16) and 7x30mm screws per hinge. Ensure to fix the hinges to the top & bottom framing on each door. Use 28x30mm screws, pre-drilling holes.
Step 2: Position the Floor
Place the floor (No. 4) onto a firm and level base. Ensure the base has suitable drainage and is free from areas where standing water can collect. Refer to front page for base requirements.
Step 3: Assemble First Side
Place the plain gable (No. 3) and the first plain side (No. 2) onto the floor and fix at the corner using 3x50mm screws. Pre-drill holes. Do NOT secure the building to the floor until the roof has been fixed in place.
Step 4: Assemble Second Side
Following the same method as Step 3, place the assembled door gable (No. 1) and the second plain side (No. 2) onto the floor and fix at the corner using 3x50mm screws. Pre-drill holes. Do NOT secure the building to the floor until the roof has been fixed in place.
Step 5: Attach Ridge Bar
Fix the 2x "L" brackets (No. 17) to either end of the ridge bar (No. 6) using 2x20mm screws per bracket. Ensure the bracket plate(s) are flush with each end of the ridge bar. Position the ridge bar between the gable and side panels, securing into position using 2x30mm screws per side. Use 4x20mm screws for brackets and 4x30mm screws for securing the bar.
Step 6: Attach Roof Panels
Fix both eaves frames (No. 7) to the edge of both roof panels (No. 5), ensuring the frames match the panel lengths. Fix the roof sheets to the roof, ensuring they meet at the top, using 10x30mm screws per roof sheet. Ensure screws go into the framing of the panels and the ridge bar. Use 28x30mm screws.
Step 7: Secure Building to Floor
Once the roof has been fixed in place, secure the building to the floor using 50mm screws. Screw through the panels into the floor bearers below, following the nailing pattern as a guide. Use 18x50mm screws.
Step 8: Apply Roof Felt
Cut the felt into strips and lay onto the roof as shown in the illustration. Ensure approximately 50mm of overhanging felt around the building. Fix the felt using the felt tacks supplied at 100mm intervals. Felt size: 2150mm. ✋? HANDLE WITH CARE.
Step 9: Fit Door Strips and Blocks
Place the door strips (No. 9) between the door and door gable as shown and fix into position using 4x30mm screws per strip. Attach the blocks (No. 8) to the reverse of the door at the top and bottom, screwing through the front of the door into the block with 2x30mm screws per block. Fix a turn button (No. 15) to each block with 1x30mm screw per turn button, ensuring the doors can be locked to the framing. Use 10x30mm screws.
Step 10: Fit Door Trims
Fix the door trims (No's. 12 & 13) onto the front of the doors (opposite the turn buttons on the back), securing the trims using 7x20mm screws. Attach the last turn button (No. 15) to the front of the building (same door as the trims) using 1x20mm screw. Use 8x20mm screws.
Step 11: Attach Cover Trims
Arrange the cover trims (No. 10) around the building at each corner, securing each trim in position using 3x30mm screws. Use 12x30mm screws.
Step 12: Attach Fascias and Finials
Attach the fascias (No. 11) and the finials (No. 14) to the top of the building using 40mm screws, ensuring to trap the felt between the fascia and building. Use 16x40mm screws.
Final Treatment
It is ESSENTIAL that you apply wood treatment immediately after the building has been assembled.
