General Instructions
Before You Start
Preparation Checklist:
- Check the pack for all listed parts.
- Gather necessary tools: Phillips screwdriver, Stanley knife, wood saw, step ladder, and a 2mm drill bit (not supplied).
- Ensure ample space and a clean, dry area for assembly.
Timber Properties and Care
As natural timber, wood panels can be affected by weather. Swelling may occur during heavy rain, and warping during dry spells due to moisture loss. While unavoidable, these effects can be managed. Spraying the building with water during hot, dry periods and sheltering it from rain or snow is recommended.
Buildings are pre-treated with a water-based treatment for transit and up to 3 months against mould. To ensure longevity and validate the guarantee, it is essential to treat the building with a wood preserver within the first three months of assembly and thereafter as recommended by the manufacturer. Ensure the product is placed on a suitable base.
Building a Base
Consider the following when constructing the base:
- Ensure access to all sides for maintenance and annual treatment.
- The base must be level and built on firm ground to prevent distortion.
- The base should be slightly smaller than the building's external measurements, allowing cladding to overlap for water runoff.
- It is recommended that the floor be at least 25mm above the surrounding ground level to avoid flooding.
Types of Base
- Concrete: 75mm laid on top of 75mm hard-core.
- Slabs: Laid on 50mm of sharp sand.
Safety Information
All products are manufactured to high safety standards. For children's products, independent testing to EN71 level is conducted. Mercia Garden Products cannot accept responsibility for your safety during erection or use of this product.
Assembly Recommendation: Two adults are recommended for assembly. ? All buildings should be erected by two adults.
Timber Handling: ⚠️ CAUTION: Every effort has been made to eliminate splinters on rough surfaces. Wear gloves when handling rough sawn timber.
Pressure Treated Timber: This process protects wood from rot and insect damage using chemicals like Alkaline Copper Quaternary (ACQ), Copper Azole (CA), or Micronized Copper Quaternary (MCQ). Safety: Always wear gloves, eye protection, and a dust mask. Never burn sawdust or scraps from pressure-treated wood; dispose of them in a landfill.
Environmental Factors: ❄️ Winter = High Moisture = Expansion | ☀️ Summer = Low Moisture = Contraction

Assembly Steps
Pre Assembly: Before assembling, remove the transportation blocks from the bottom of each panel.
Step 1: Prepare the Base
Place the floor (Part 4) onto a firm and level base. Ensure the base has suitable drainage and is free from areas where standing water can collect.
Step 2: Attach First Panels
Place the first gable (Part 1 or 3), back panel (Part 2), and rear post (Part 7) onto the floor (Part 4). Secure each panel to the rear post using 3x 50mm screws per panel. Ensure the panels are flush to the inside edge of the post. Fix the panels to the floor using 2x 50mm screws per panel, aligning screws with floor bearers. Ensure the post is flush with the end of the floor before securing.
Step 3: Attach Second Rear Post
Attach the second rear post (Part 7) to the building. Screw through the back panel (Part 2) into the post using 3x 50mm screws. Ensure the panel is flush to the inside edge of the post.
Step 4: Attach Remaining Panels
Following the same method as steps 2 and 3, fix the second back panel (Part 2) and the right gable (Part 1) onto the assembly.
Step 5: Attach Front Posts
Attach the first two front posts (Part 8) to the building. Secure one post to each gable using 3x 50mm screws.
Step 6: Complete Front Structure
For 01VINLOG0307-V1 Only:
Place the remaining front post (Part 8) onto the floor, aligning it with the rear post. Secure the post into place using 2x 50mm screws, fixing through the front into the floor bearer.
For 01VINSTR0307-V1 Only:
Place the remaining gable (Part 3) and front post (Part 8) onto the floor. Align the gable with the inside of the rear post and secure in place using 8x 50mm screws.
Step 7: Attach the Roof
Place the roof panels (Part 5) on top of the building. Align the roof so it is flush with the rear. Secure the roof in place with 6x 70mm screws, screwing through the roof into the posts. (This step is the same for both models).
Step 8: Attach Fascias
Attach the fascias (Part 9 - Side Fascia, Part 10 - Front Fascia) to the front and sides of the building. Secure each fascia into place using 10x 30mm screws.
Step 9: Install the Door (01VINSTR0307-V1 Only)
Place the door (Part 6) into the door gap. Fix it into place using 3x T-hinges (Part 11). Secure each hinge with 7x 30mm black screws. Ensure the door can open and close freely without restriction. The door can be hinged either way depending on your needs.
Step 10: Secure the Door (01VINSTR0307-V1 Only)
Fix the turn buttons (Part 12) to the top and bottom of the posts, ensuring they fasten the door, using 2x 30mm black screws per button. Secure the hasp and staple (Part 13) to the post and door using 5x 30mm black screws.
Final Treatment Reminder
It is ESSENTIAL that you apply wood treatment immediately after the building has been assembled.
