1. Mounting the Brackets
Follow these steps for both Inside Mount and Outside Mount installations. Specific bracket types (Cassette vs. Exposed Roll) may have minor visual differences but installation principles are similar.
Inside Mount
- Measure inward 2" - 4" from each top corner of the window and mark with a pencil. Add intermediate marks if more brackets are needed.
- Measure the desired depth for bracket placement. Start at a mark and measure back at least 2". Make a pencil mark. For a flush fit, measure back 3 1/2" (cassette) or 3 7/8" (exposed roll). Repeat for all bracket locations.
- Hold each bracket against the window frame/ceiling, aligning its back edge or release lip with your depth mark. Mark the screw hole locations.
- Pre-drill pilot holes at the marked locations using a 5/64" drill bit. Erase any remaining pencil marks.
- Align the bracket with the pre-drilled holes and secure it with screws. Repeat for all brackets.
Outside Mount
- Measure inward 2" - 4" from each top corner of the window and mark with a pencil. Add intermediate marks if more brackets are needed.
- Measure the desired height for bracket placement. The minimum height is 1 1/4" (or 1 1/2" for clearance). Mark this height above your window. Repeat for all bracket locations.
- Position a bracket against the mounting surface, aligning its top edge with the height mark. Mark the screw hole locations.
- Pre-drill pilot holes at the marked locations using a 5/64" drill bit. Erase any remaining pencil marks.
- Align the bracket with the pre-drilled holes and secure it with screws. Repeat for all brackets.
Outside Mount Specifics: For exposed roll shades, determine the difference between shade width and window width, divide by two, and measure this distance from the window edge to center the brackets.
Bracket Types: Cassette brackets have front and back hooks. Exposed roll brackets have slots and holes for motor/pin ends.
2. Attaching the Shade to Brackets
Ensure brackets are straight and aligned before proceeding. Screw holes are often elongated for minor adjustments.
For Exposed Roll Shades
- Hold the shade, insert the pin end into the cross hole of the bracket.
- Insert the motor head hooks into the bracket slots. Gently pull down on the motor head until it locks securely. The bottom of the motor head should point straight down.
For Cassette Headrail Shades
- Hold the headrail and align its front edge with the front hook of each bracket. Slide the shade left or right to center it.
- Push the headrail upward until the back lip of each bracket snaps onto the back edge of the cassette. A click indicates secure attachment.
- Remove any protective wrapping from the roller.
3. Installing No-Drill Blinds Headrail
This section applies to shades equipped with a No-Drill Headrail system.
Preparing the No-Drill Blinds Headrail
- Pull the lever or push the mechanism to retract the tension block.
- Install provided metal strips or padded adhesive tape on opposite sides of the window opening. Peel and stick them to the ends of the No-Drill Blinds Headrail. (This is optional for larger products or if the headrail tends to slip.)
Installing the No-Drill Blinds Headrail
- Locate the adjustment block at the end of the headrail opposite the lever. Use a flat-head screwdriver to twist red plugs inward, slide the block out a few millimeters, then twist plugs back to secure. Make small adjustments for a tight fit.
- Hold the No-Drill Blinds Headrail flush against the top of the window opening and push the lever firmly upwards until the rail snaps into place.
- Insert the shade onto the brackets.
Uninstalling the No-Drill Blinds Headrail
Use a flat-head screwdriver to unlatch the lever. Hold the headrail in place while unlatching to prevent damage.
4. Motorized Roller Shades: Remote and Operation
Motorized shades are pre-programmed. The remote allows for operation, channel management, and limit setting.
How to Use the Remote

Mounting the Remote Holder
An optional wall mount holder is included. Determine placement, secure with screws, and attach screw cap covers.
Replacing the Remote Battery
The remote uses a CR2450 3V coin cell battery.
- Use a small screwdriver to remove the battery screw on the back cover. Slide the cover up to disengage and remove it.
- Tilt the old battery out of its socket. Insert a new CR2450 battery with the "+" side showing.
- Slide the back cover on and secure the battery screw.
Battery Safety Note: Handle batteries with care. Recycle or dispose of properly. Keep away from children. Do not mix battery types or recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Seek medical attention if ingested.
5. Additional Instructions
Installing Chain Tension Device (for Corded Shades)
(Ensures smooth operation and child safety for corded systems.)
- Slide the tension device to the bottom of the bead chain loop.
- Insert a screwdriver/punch into the screw at the bottom of the tensioner.
- Press the tension device release buttons while moving the screw hole down to release the safety mechanism.
- Slide the tensioner to the desired location at the bottom of the loop.
- Mark the window casement at the notch in the tension device. The center of the screw hole should align with the notch (±1/8").
- Mount the tension device using the provided bracket (if needed for textured surfaces) or directly. Follow specific steps for Inside Mount (with/without bracket) or Outside Mount, using screws and potentially wall anchors.
CAUTION/WARNING: Ensure the tension device is secured properly and located away from the bottom rail or fabric to prevent operational issues and maintain child safety. A damaged or missing tension device poses a strangulation risk.
6. How to Operate
For Cordless Shades (Wand Operation):
- Attach the wand securely to the thread connector by rotating it until it stops.
- To lower: Grip the wand handle and pull straight down. Release at the desired position. Alternatively, pull the bottom bar down.
- To raise: Gently tug down on the wand handle to release the lock mechanism. The shade will go up to the top limit. Pull the wand handle down again to stop. Alternatively, lift the bottom bar.
For Cordless Shades (Bottom Bar Operation - different from wand):

For Motorized Shades: Use the remote control as described in Section 4.
Important Note: Do not pull on the side of the shade fabric, as this can cause misalignment or dirt.
Cleaning Instructions
Clean shades monthly for best results.
- For regular maintenance, use a duster or a vacuum with a brush attachment on the front and back of the shade.
- For spot cleaning, use a damp cloth with a very mild detergent. Dab at stains; do NOT rub. Let the area air-dry.
