Important Warnings

Power Disconnection

WARNING: Disconnect power at the main fuse box before installation.

Installation Compliance

This fixture is intended for installation in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all local code specifications. If you are not familiar with code requirements, installation by a certified electrician is recommended.

Before Assembly

Before assembly, remove all parts and part packages from the box. If anything is missing, please contact the retailer from which the product was purchased.

Installation Steps

1. Step 1: Carefully pull house wires out of the junction box so they are easily accessible during installation.
2. Step 2: Position mounting bracket (A) so threaded ends of attached fixture mounting screws (E) are facing down towards the floor.
3. Step 3: Carefully pull house wires through the center hole in mounting bracket (A). Align small holes in mounting bracket (A) with holes in the junction box.
4. Step 4: Thread each junction box screw (B) into the appropriate hole in mounting bracket (A) and into the hole in the junction box. Tighten junction box screws (B) to secure mounting bracket (A) to the junction box. CAUTION: Make sure house wires are pulled completely through the hole in the mounting bracket. Do not pinch wires between the mounting bracket and ceiling.
5. Step 5: Strip 3/4" of insulation from the ends of fixture wires.
6. Step 6: Slightly loosen the ground screw on mounting bracket (A). Do not completely remove the ground screw. Wrap the house ground wire (copper) around the ground screw, leaving enough wire to attach to the fixture ground wire. Twist the end of the fixture ground wire and the end of the house ground wire (copper) together. Twist wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten wire nut (C). Refer to the chart below for correct wire connections.
7. Step 7: Twist the end of the house lead wire (black) and the end of the fixture lead wire together. Twist wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten wire nut (C). Twist the end of the house neutral wire (white) and the end of the fixture neutral wire together. Twist wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten wire nut (C). Refer to the chart below for correct wire connections.
8. Step 8: Wrap electrical tape (not included) around wire nuts (C) and wires. Ensure wires are securely fastened into wire nuts.
9. Step 9: Carefully push all wires and wire nuts into the junction box.
10. Step 10: Carefully raise the fixture up to the ceiling. Place canopy (D) of the fixture over mounting bracket (A). Pass holes in canopy (D) over the ends of fixture mounting screws (E).
11. Step 11: Screw one threaded cap (F) onto the end of each fixture mounting screw (E). Tighten threaded caps (F) to secure the fixture to the ceiling. DO NOT over tighten.
12. Step 12: Pass the hole in the top of the shade (K) over the socket. Thread the socket ring (L) onto the socket. Tighten the socket ring (L) to secure the shade (K) in place. DO NOT over tighten.
13. Step 13: Screw the recommended bulb (E26 Edison bulb type, not included) into the socket. Verify the correct bulb wattage marked on the socket of the fixture. WARNING: DO NOT exceed maximum bulb wattage.

Wire Connections

Ground Wire Connection

Connect Supply (House) Ground Copper Wire to:

• Bare Copper Wire or,
• Bare Silver Wire or,
• Green Insulated Wire.

Lead and Neutral Wire Connections

*When parallel wire (SPT 1 & SPT 2) is used: The lead wire is round in shape or smooth. The neutral wire is square in shape or ridged.
