Installation Guide
Dash Disassembly
Protect dashboard areas to prevent damage.
- Using a panel removal tool, pry away and unclip the bottom HVAC panel. Disconnect panel connectors and set aside.
- Using the panel removal tool, unclip the air vent panel. Exercise care around the key port due to its fragility. Remove and store.
- Unscrew the four bolts holding the head unit. Disconnect all wiring and remove the head unit. If no bolts are present, use release keys.
Dash Modification
Highlighted sections of the dashboard require cutting to correctly fit the new head unit.
Always measure accurately before performing modifications. Connects2 promotes the use of professional installers and is not responsible for any vehicle damage.
Kit Assembly
- Place the 'airvent bracket' into the dashboard, ensuring the correct side (e.g., "RHD" for Right Hand Drive vehicles) faces outward. Attach the dual-sided foam mount to the back of the bracket and position it in the vehicle.
- Attach the new Double DIN Brackets to the aftermarket head unit using the provided screws.
- Connect the 12-pin connector from the stereo connection (patch) lead to the interface box.
- Connect the other end of the stereo connection (patch) lead to the steering wheel control input on the aftermarket stereo. This may be a 3.5mm jack or wired input; consult the stereo manual. Important: This step must be completed before connecting power to the interface to avoid functionality loss.
- Connect the 14-pin connector from the supplied wiring loom to the interface box.
- Connect the 4-pin camera extension harness to the interface box.
- Connect the power/speaker ISO connector to the corresponding connector on the aftermarket stereo.
- Connect flying wires from the main wiring harness to the head unit, referring to 'Additional Connections' on page 3.
- Camera Connection:
- a) To retain an OEM camera: Connect the yellow male RCA from the camera extension harness to the aftermarket head unit's reverse camera input.
- b) To add an aftermarket reversing camera: Connect the yellow female RCA from the camera extension harness to the male yellow RCA of the aftermarket camera.
- Connect the quadlock connector on the supplied harness to the vehicle's quadlock connector.
- Test stereo and steering wheel control functionality. If unresponsive, uninstall and reinstall carefully.
- After successful testing, install the aftermarket head unit into the dashboard and secure with existing screws. Place the new fascia over the unit and press firmly around the edges to clip it into place. Reassemble the dashboard in reverse order.
