Lindab AL Grilles - Global Version
Product Data Sheet and Technical Specifications
Product Overview
The Lindab AL is a linear bar grille constructed from aluminum, featuring fixed blades. Its design offers high flexibility, making it suitable for a wide range of applications due to its various frame and grid combinations. The AL grille can be supplied with different mounting options, including a mounting frame, an opposed blade damper, and a plenum box accessory.
The AL grille is available in two versions:
- Global version: Wall opening dimensions are L + 5 mm x H + 5 mm.
- Nordic version: Wall opening dimensions are L x H.
Dimensions
The AL grille is available in several standard sizes with minimum and maximum dimensions:
- AL - 0, 1, 2, 3: Height (H) from 75 mm to 600 mm; Length (L) from 200 mm to 2000 mm.
- AL - 4, 5: Height (H) from 50 mm to 400 mm; Length (L) from 200 mm to 1500 mm.
- AL - 6: Height (H) from 100 mm to 300 mm; Length (L) from 200 mm to 1200 mm.
Standard grilles are manufactured in 50 mm increments within these ranges. Customized sizes are available upon request.
For lengths exceeding the maximum specified (e.g., L > 2000 mm), the AL grille can be delivered in multiple pieces to form a continuous linear grille line. Specific configurations for lengths over 2000 mm are detailed on page 5 of the original document.
Frame and Grid Options
The AL grille offers various frame and grid configurations:
Frame Types:
- 0 - No frame: Provides a basic grille without an integrated frame.

- 4 - 9 mm flat frame: A very flat 9 mm frame.
- 5 - 9 mm flat frame with direction: A 9 mm flat frame with blades oriented in a specific direction.
- 6 - Frame with no flange: A frame option without a flange.
Grid Types:
- 0 - Fixed grid 0°: Fixed blades at a 0-degree angle, compatible with all frames.
- 1 - Fixed grid 15°: Fixed blades at a 15-degree angle, compatible with all frames.
- 7 - Removable grid 0°: Removable blades at a 0-degree angle, compatible with frame type 6.

Technical Data and Performance
The document provides comprehensive technical data, including performance charts and selection tables for both supply air and extract air applications. Key parameters covered are:
- Airflow rate (qv): Measured in l/s and m³/h.
- Free area (Ak): Measured in m².
- Sound power level (LWA): Measured in dB(A).
- Total pressure loss (Dpt): Measured in Pa.
- Throw (l0.2): Throw to terminal velocity at 0.2 m/s, measured in meters.
Detailed selection tables provide performance data based on grille size, airflow rate, and other factors. These tables are extensive and are best utilized in conjunction with Lindab's advanced web tool, LindQST. LindQST allows for precise calculation of grille ranges, selection of suitable grille types and dimensions, product selection, room dimensioning, and documentation search.
Note on Sound Power Levels: The sound power levels provided are for grilles without an opposed blade damper. Corrections for damper settings are available in a separate table, indicating increases in sound power level and pressure loss when the damper is used.
Note on Air Jet Dispersal: Throw data is valid for installations more than 800 mm from the ceiling. For installations closer to the ceiling (less than 300 mm), the air throw is extended by 40%.
