Because we know that your success is our success too!
I would like to thank all of those who have made the PRO MIXER possible. You have all made your own personal contributions, from the developers to the many other employees at this company, and to you, the BEHRINGER user.

Be honest: who really likes to read manuals? We know you want to get started right away, but it is only after reading these instructions that you will fully understand and be able to properly use all the features your DX626 has to offer. Take the time to read everything through!
This manual first describes the terminology used, so that you can fully understand the DX626 and its functions. Please read the manual carefully and keep it for future reference.
1.1 Before You Begin
Your DX626 was carefully packed in the factory and the packaging is designed to protect the unit from rough handling. Nevertheless, we recommend that you carefully examine the packaging and its contents for any signs of physical damage that may have occurred during transit.
If the unit is damaged, please do NOT return it to BEHRINGER, but notify your dealer and the shipping company immediately. Otherwise claims for damage or replacement may not be granted.
To avoid overheating, ensure that there is enough space around the unit for cooling and that the device is not placed near other devices giving off heat.
WARNING! We would like to point out that high volume may damage your hearing and/or your headphones. Please turn the MASTER control all the way to the left before turning on the device. Always make sure that the appropriate volume is set.
Control Elements
2.1 Front Panel
The front panel of the Behringer DX626 Pro Mixer features numerous controls for operation:
- MIC INPUT: Balanced XLR connector for your dynamic microphone.
- GAIN Control: Used to set the input signal level for each channel.
- 3-Band Equalizer (HIGH, MID, LOW): Each input channel has a 3-band equalizer with a kill characteristic, allowing signals to be lowered significantly (-32 dB) or boosted (+12 dB). This is useful for fading out frequency ranges. The total level also depends on the EQ setting; adjust EQ before the GAIN control.
- MIC/LINE-PHONO Switch (Channel 1): Selects between microphone signal and line or phono signal for channel 1. The rear panel PHONO/LINE switch determines the specific line/phono setting.
- PHONO/LINE Switch (Channels 2 & 3): Selects input signal type for channels 2 and 3. "Phono" is for turntables; "Line" is for other sources like CD or MD players. Caution: Never connect line-level devices to sensitive phono inputs.
- CHANNEL Fader: Adjusts the volume for each channel.
- TALK Button: Activates the talkover function, lowering other input channel signals (TALK LED lights up) to make voice clearer over the music.
- MASTER Control: Sets the output volume for the MASTER output.
- BALANCE Control: Adjusts the stereo image for the MASTER output.
- BOOTH Control: Sets the output volume for the BOOTH output.
- CUE Control: Adjusts the volume of the headphones signal (PFL signal).
- CH-1, CH-2, CH-3 CUE Buttons: Select which channels (individually or all) are previewed in the headphones (PFL signal). The PFL signal is taken pre-fader for previewing music without affecting the master output.
- MASTER/CUE Fader: Controls the volume ratio between input channels and the MASTER signal in the headphones.
- LED Displays: Three 10-character LED displays show PFL (lower chain) and MASTER (upper LEDs, left and right) signal levels.
- BPM Counters (CH-2, CH-3): Calculate track tempos in beats per minute (BPM) for smooth transitions. The left display shows CH-2 tempo, the right shows CH-3 tempo.
- CROSSFADER: Used for crossfading between channels 2 and 3.
- BNC Gooseneck Lamp Socket: Connector for a 12-volt BNC lamp.
- POWER Button: Turns the DX626 on and off.
2.2 Rear Panel
The rear panel primarily features cinch (RCA) jacks for audio connections, along with power and grounding:
- INPUT 1 (20): Input for channel 1, switchable to phono or line sensitivity via the rear panel switch (21). Requires MIC/LINE-PHONO switch on the front panel to be set to LINE-PHONO.
- PHONO/LINE Switch (21): For INPUT 1, selects between LINE and PHONO input sensitivity.
- PHONO Inputs (22): For connecting turntables on channels 2 and 3.
- LINE Inputs (23): For connecting tape decks, CD players, MD players, etc., on channels 2 and 3.
- GND Connectors (24): Ground terminals for turntables.
- TAPE Output (25): Fixed-level output for recording music to devices like tape decks or DAT recorders. Input level must be adjusted on the recording device.
- BOOTH Output (26): Output for connecting an amplifier for monitor speakers or another zone, controlled by the BOOTH control.
- MASTER Output (27): Main output for connecting an amplifier, controlled by the MASTER control. Safety Note: Always turn power amps on last to avoid inrush currents. Ensure no signal is present at the DX626 before powering on amps.
- Power Cable Connector (28): Connects the unit to the mains power supply. The internal power supply is designed for stable performance.
- FUSE HOLDER / VOLTAGE SETTING (29): Allows selection of mains voltage (115V or 230V) and houses the fuse. Ensure the voltage setting matches your local supply. Replace fuses only with the same type and rating.
- SERIAL NUMBER (30): For product registration and warranty purposes.
Headphones Connector (Fig. 2.2): Enables previewing music (PFL signal) on headphones with a minimum impedance of 32 ohms.

Warranty
This section outlines the warranty terms and conditions for the Behringer DX626.
§ 1 Warranty Card/Online Registration
To be protected by the extended warranty, the buyer must complete and return the warranty card within 14 days of purchase or use the online registration option via the Internet (www.behringer.com or www.behringer.de). Failure to do so may void extended warranty claims.
§ 2 Warranty
Behringer warrants the product's mechanical and electronic components to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the original date of purchase. Behringer will, at its discretion, replace or repair the product using suitable new or reconditioned parts. Warranty claims are otherwise expressly excluded.
§ 3 Return Authorization Number
To obtain warranty service, the buyer must call Behringer before returning the product, providing a description of the problem. Behringer will issue a return authorization number. The product must then be returned in its original shipping carton, with the return authorization number, to the address provided by Behringer. Shipments without freight prepaid will not be accepted.
§ 4 Warranty Regulations
Warranty services require a copy of the original retail dealer's invoice. Products eligible for repair or replacement will be serviced within 30 days of receipt. Modifications or adaptations to comply with local standards are not covered. The warranty does not cover defects caused by improper handling, normal wear and tear (faders, potentiometers, etc.), neglect, misuse, unauthorized repairs, or conditions beyond Behringer's control (force majeure).
Unauthorized repair or opening of the unit will void the warranty.
If a defect is not covered by warranty, inspection costs are payable by the customer. Products not meeting warranty terms will be repaired at the buyer's expense.
§ 5 Warranty Transferability
This warranty is extended exclusively to the original buyer and is not transferable.
§ 6 Claim for Damages
Behringer's liability shall not exceed the invoiced value of the product. Behringer is not liable for consequential damages.
