Toshiba offers a comprehensive range of indoor units for all commercial applications: ceiling, cassette, ducted, and wall units. The product range is extended to a maximum capacity of 27 kW to further meet the demands of larger-scale commercial applications.

Toshiba Inverter Technology

Inverter air conditioners adjust room temperature by automatically changing the compressor speed. When the room is sufficiently cooled or heated, the inverter automatically reduces the compressor speed, saving energy and minimizing temperature fluctuations.

By regulating compressor speed, only the necessary capacity is generated. Since the compressor is not frequently switched on and off, the lifespan of the air conditioner is extended. In 1981, Toshiba was the first manufacturer to introduce air conditioners with inverter technology to the market. Since then, the technology has continued to develop and improve.

Toshiba inverter control uses two different types of drive for the compressor: Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) for highly efficient operation at partial load, or Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) for rapid achievement of the set temperature.

  • Individual Settings: Special operating modes, such as "Soft Cooling" or "Dual Setpoint," allow for personalized comfort settings. Whether prioritizing maximum comfort or energy efficiency, Toshiba facilitates the adaptation of desired functions.
  • Automatic Mode Switching: For rapid temperature achievement, the "High Power" mode is activated with PAM. Once the target temperature is reached, it is maintained with minimal energy consumption (PWM mode).
  • Variable Regulation: Compressor speed, and thus unit power, can be regulated almost continuously in steps of 0.1 Hz, allowing for precise unit adjustment and optimal energy utilization.

Digital Inverter CLASSIC

The Digital Inverter Classic leverages Toshiba's comprehensive expertise to provide accessible solutions for a wide range of small and medium commercial applications.

  • Operating Temperature Range: Heating is possible down to an outdoor temperature of -15°C, and cooling is possible from -15°C to 46°C, offering a wide application range.

Single Room Solution – RAV

Toshiba Business offers two systems: the RAV series for single rooms (up to four indoor units in one temperature zone) and the VRF series for large buildings with extensive combination possibilities.

The RAV series is suitable for smaller business spaces like offices, shops, and technical rooms, prioritizing reliability and continuous operation. Up to four indoor units can be connected to one outdoor unit, with nominal cooling capacities ranging from 2.5 kW to 22.5 kW.

  • Floor/Wall Units (Parapet): Compact design for flexible placement.
  • Special Solutions: Ventilation sets for waste air and 0-10V control, and Ventilation Set NEXT.

Measurement Conditions: Standard conditions are specified for cooling (35°C outdoor, 27°C/19°C indoor, 50-55% humidity) and heating (7°C/6°C outdoor, 20°C indoor).

Outdoor Units – RAV

Toshiba's outdoor units are categorized by series:

  • Digital Inverter Classic: Economy Classic series, 1-phase and 3-phase models, capacities from 5.0 kW to 13.0 kW cooling and 5.3 kW to 16.0 kW heating.
  • Digital Inverter NEXT: "Next Level" series, capacities from 2.5 kW to 14.0 kW cooling and 3.4 kW to 16.0 kW heating. Features compact design, durability, efficiency, and easy installation.
  • Super Digital Inverter: Offers extended piping lengths and height differences, with capacities from 5.3 kW to 14.0 kW cooling and 5.6 kW to 16.0 kW heating.
  • Digital Inverter BIG: Known for versatility and efficiency, with capacities from 19.0 kW to 22.5 kW cooling and 22.4 kW to 27.0 kW heating.

Refrigerant Information: Toshiba primarily uses R32 refrigerant, which has a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) than R410A, offering better energy efficiency and heat transfer.

Control Options

Toshiba provides comprehensive control options for its air conditioning systems, catering to various needs from individual room control to building-wide management.

  • Local Control: Includes simple wired remote controls, standard wired controllers, compact wired controllers, and wireless infrared remote controls. Features like Wi-Fi control via smartphone apps and local touch interfaces are available.
  • Central Control: Allows centralized management of multiple units, with options for touchscreen controllers (up to 64 or 512 units) and central remote controllers (up to 64 units). Smart Manager TOUCH offers advanced energy monitoring.
  • Building Management System (BMS) Integration: Toshiba systems can integrate with common BMS protocols like LonWorks®, Modbus®, BACnet®, and KNX® for seamless building automation.
