Important Safety Instructions

7. Do not block any ventilation openings. The device should be installed according to the manufacturer's specifications.
8. Do not place the device near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other devices (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
9. Do not override the safety mechanism of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades, one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is for your safety. If the supplied plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician to replace the obsolete outlet.
10. Ensure that no one steps on the power cord or that it is not pinched, especially at the plugs, socket outlets, and at the point where it exits the device.
11. Use only the attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
12. Unplug the device during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
13. All servicing should be performed by qualified personnel. Servicing is required when the device has been damaged in any way, such as when the power cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the device, it has been exposed to rain or moisture, it does not operate normally, or it has been dropped.
14. Disconnect from the mains: By switching off the POWER switch (13), all functions are stopped and the amplifier indicators will turn off. However, the device is only completely disconnected from the mains by pulling the power plug (11). Therefore, the power plug and socket must be easily accessible.
15. The device is connected to a grounded power outlet via a power cord. The marking information is located on the bottom of the device.
16. The device must not be exposed to dripping or splashing water, and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, should be placed on the device.

WARNING: This product must not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste under any circumstances. Go to the nearest recycling center for electrical and electronic equipment.

Introduction

The Ecler VEO-XPS43 is a professional HDMI® Extender Set for latency-free extension of high-resolution audio and video signals over a single Cat6 cable for distances up to 30 meters, and Full-HD signals up to 60 meters. The VEO-XPS43 offers EDID management functions and supports IR Pass-Through for seamless integration. It is thus a simple and cost-effective solution for all professional applications requiring high-resolution HDMI® extension.

Description of Control Panels

6.1. Front and Rear of the Transmitter

• 1. HDMI® IN CONNECTION: Connect this input to the HDMI® source.
• 2. EDID SELECTOR SWITCH: Used to select EDID settings. If the switch is in the right position, the extender copies the EDID information from the HDMI® loop-out to the source. If it is in the left position, it copies the EDID information from the receiver to the source.
• 3. HDMI® OUT CONNECTION: Connect this output to a local display or use it for cascading (daisy-chaining) another VEO-XPS43 transmitter.
• 4. IR OUT CONNECTION: Connect this to the integrated IR transmitter to extend an IR signal from the display to the source.
• 5. POWER LED: This LED indicator lights up to show that the transmitter is powered.
• 6. CAT CONNECTION: Connect this port using a CAT6 cable to the receiver input port. Only point-to-point connections are allowed.
• 7. CONNECTION LED INDICATOR: Shows the status of the HDMI® connection:
  • Lights up: HDMI® signal with HDCP
  • Blinks: HDMI® signal without HDCP
  • Off: No audio output with HDMI® signal
• 8. 12V DC CONNECTION: Connect the supplied 12V DC power adapter here.

6.2. Front and Rear of the Receiver

• 1. HDMI® OUT SOCKET: Connect this output to the HDMI® display.
• 2. IR IN SOCKET: Connect this to the supplied IR receiver to extend an IR signal from the display to the source.
• 3. POWER LED: This LED indicator lights up when the receiver is powered.
• 4. CAT CONNECTION SOCKET: Connect this port using a CAT6 cable to the input socket of the transmitter. Only point-to-point connections are allowed.
• 5. CONNECTION LED: Shows the status of the HDMI® connection:
  • Lights up: HDMI® signal with HDCP
  • Blinks: HDMI® signal without HDCP
  • Off: No audio output with HDMI® signal

7. Connecting the Devices

To avoid connection problems and malfunctions, the connection of the transmitter to the receiver requires standard Category 6 (or higher) Ethernet cables of good quality.

To ensure a good signal reference for the receiver and to avoid electromagnetic interference along the cable, it is essential to use shielded cables and connectors.
