Transport in Vehicles
The product is crash-tested and approved according to ISO 7176-19.
Etac recommends the following order:
- The user moves to a vehicle seat and uses the vehicle's three-point belt. The wheelchair is then placed securely in the luggage compartment or back seat to prevent overturning or rolling.
- The wheelchair is anchored forward in the vehicle using the rear transport bracket, and the user uses a separate three-point belt anchored in the vehicle. This is the tested and approved method per ISO 7176-19. Anchoring devices must not be pulled through wheels or around back posts. Detachable accessories must be removed and clamped. If head support is not mounted with bracket 3A, a cross bar must be used.
- Pursuant to Directive 2001/85/EC, specially marked wheelchair spaces may allow transport facing the direction of travel. In this mode, the user/attendant must be active, prepared for sudden movements, and able to maintain a safe sitting position. The user's disability must not prevent them from holding on. The parking brake must be used, anti-tip guard folded down, detachable accessories removed/clamped, a properly set head support used, and a positioning belt should be used.
3. Service and Maintenance

13. Settings, Readjustments
Brake, Adjustment
The brake is continuously adjustable. 1. Loosen screw. 2. Adjust brake position. 3. Brake pin should be 15-20 mm from tyre in unbraked position. 4. Ensure brake is straight in groove. Tighten screw to ~5 Nm. Test brakes! 5. Ensure nut locks inside. Diagram shows brake adjustment steps with measurements (15-20mm) and 5Nm torque.
For certain rear wheel positions, folded leg supports can release locked brakes. Adjust brake lever to create a "free position" where the brake releases only when the lever is near the rear wheel. 1. Loosen screw. 2. Remove oval plate, turn 180° (spike up). 3. Screw back in. Diagram shows brake lever free position adjustment.
Rear Wheels with Quick-Release Axle
Adjust distance between hub sleeve and locking balls by adjusting the outer hub nut. Distance should be 0.2 to 1.2 mm. Always ensure the quick-release button springs out properly upon assembly. Test by pulling the wheel.
Leg Supports, Continuously Elevating
Can be adjusted. Never stand on foot plates. When lifting, remove leg supports and lift the frame. Always keep screws and knobs for foot plates mounted, even if not used. Diagram shows leg support adjustment steps with 5mm Allen key and 3mm Allen key.
Amputee Leg Support

Anti-Tip Guard
Adjustable in height, angle, and length. Always check function after adjusting seat height, balance position, or back angle. Diagram shows anti-tip guard adjustment with 5mm Allen key and 5Nm torque.
Handrims
Handrim material and spacing affect grip. Foam rubber and plastic offer higher friction but may cause slight burns with heavy braking. Spacing on 24", 22", 20" wheels with various handrims can be adjusted by moving/changing spacers. Risk of crushing fingers may occur in narrow passages or if fingers enter spokes. Spoke guards are recommended.
Camber Angle
Changed by replacing washers between hub sleeve and nut (see "Changing the rear wheel position"). Check rear wheel hub shaft setting; button should spring out. Diagram shows camber angle adjustment with washers and 24mm spanner, 20Nm torque.
Centre of Gravity/Balance Setting
Adjusted by changing rear wheel position (hubs forwards/backwards). Moving wheels forward makes the chair easier to drive and swivel but increases backward tilt tendency. Check brakes. Center of gravity also changes with seat/back angle adjustments. Use of anti-tip guards is recommended. Ensure quick-release button springs out. Toe-in/toe-out correction is not needed due to design.
Arm Support
Attachment can be mounted in two height positions and two depth positions. Height position 1: 18-26 cm. Position 2 (standard): 24-31 cm. Depth adjustable by 14 mm. Square nut determines height and attaches side plate. Loosen screw, slide side plate, tighten nut. Right support can be mounted on left side and vice versa. Do not lift the wheelchair using arm supports.
