Common Problems and Simple Troubleshooting
1. Unable to boot normally
Reason for not booting:
- Incorrect wiring: Ensure the yellow wire is connected to the positive pole, the red line to the key control line, and the black wire to the negative pole. Incorrect or missing connections will prevent booting.
- Color mismatch: If the original car wiring colors do not match the unit's wiring, it may not boot or could burn.
- Plug incompatibility: If the original car plug does not fit the new unit, it cannot be used and may cause damage.
- Fuse issue: If the unit does not boot despite correct wiring, check the fuse on the yellow line. If the fuse is intact, twist the yellow and red wires together, turn on the key, and press the unit's power button.
- Testing with a 12V power supply: If the unit still doesn't boot, connect it to a 12V-5A power supply. If it boots, the original car wiring may be faulty. If it still doesn't boot, the unit may be broken.
2. Automatic shut-down
Conditions for automatic shutdown:
- Cable error: If the blue cable (automatic antenna power supply) is connected to the unit's power cable, automatic shutdown may occur. Follow the correct wiring method to resolve this.
- Unstable voltage: Test the unit with a stable 12V-5A power supply. If it no longer shuts down automatically, the original power supply is the issue. If it continues to shut down, the unit may have a problem.
3. Noise
Causes of noise:
- Insufficient speaker power: When the volume is turned up, noise may occur if the original speakers are too small. Solution: Keep the volume moderate when replacing speakers or listening to music.
- Speaker cable grounding: If the speaker cable is grounded. Solution: Ensure the speaker cable is not grounded.
Remote control cannot be used
- Check battery: Align the remote control with a phone camera light and press a button. If the phone screen does not light up, replace the remote's battery.
5. Settings cannot be saved (no memory)
- Check wiring: Ensure the yellow and red lines are connected together (yellow to positive, red to key control). If reversed, change their positions.
6. Car audio with Bluetooth but not working
- Check phone connection: Search for "CAR-MP5" via Bluetooth on your phone. Connect and try answering calls or playing music. PIN Code: 0000.
7. Support no image of reversing camera
General situations:
- Incorrect or insufficient wiring.
- Camera connection method:
- a. Accessories: 1 camera + 1 power cord + 1 video cable.
- b. Wiring: Connect the pink or brown reversing control line on the unit's power line to a 12V positive source. The screen should turn blue. Connect the camera's video input interface to the backup light's positive and negative terminals. Connect the red socket of the camera to the power cable and the yellow socket to the video cable. Screw the red wire of the power cable and the video cable's wire together onto the backup light's positive pole. The black wire of the power cable is not used. Connect the other end of the video cable to the CAME video input interface on the unit. Connect the red line from the video line to the reversing control line of the power line.
- Camera malfunction: If the wired camera does not light up, it may be broken and needs replacement.
8. USB flash drive cannot be played, card slot does not accept card
- USB flash drive cannot play: Format the USB flash drive to FAT32, re-download songs, and try again. If it still fails, replace the USB flash drive.
- Card slot issue: Check if the memory card is inserted correctly. If the plug is broken, it may be the issue.
9. FM does not receive the program
- Antenna connection: Ensure the antenna plug is fully inserted and the antenna or its line is not disconnected.
- Scan channels: Press and hold "AMS" for 2 seconds for automatic scanning, or use the up/down buttons. If problems persist, try inserting a screwdriver or metal strip into the antenna port as a temporary antenna.
10. Just installed no sound
Troubleshooting:
- Speaker wire short circuit: Check if speaker cables are short-circuited. Reconnect if necessary.
- Original car wiring: If the original car only has 2 speaker cables, it may not match the unit. Reroute the original car line so that each speaker has 2 wires.
11. After a while there is no sound
Troubleshooting:
- Disconnect all speaker cables from the unit.
- Connect an external speaker to the green and purple tail lines of the unit.
- If sound is present, the car's speaker line is short-circuited or the speaker is damaged.
- If there is no sound, the unit is likely broken.
Movie playback:
- The unit supports movie playback via USB.
