Important Safety Instructions

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

For Household Use Only

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR STEAM MOP.

DANGER OF SCALDING. Please use caution when using the steam mop. The steam emitted from the steam mop is very hot.

POLARIZED PLUG: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. [Diagram of a polarized plug]

WARNING: Your steam mop is designed to clean hard floor surfaces that will withstand high heat. Do not use on unsealed wood or unglazed ceramic floors. On surfaces that have been treated with wax or some no wax floors, the sheen may be removed by the heat and steam action. It is always recommended to test an isolated area of the surface to be cleaned before proceeding. We also recommend that you check the use and care instructions from the floor manufacturer.

Technical Specifications

Getting Started

When assembling your steam mop, there may be a little water in or around the water tank. This is because all steam mops are tested 100% before purchase to ensure quality.

Parts Identification

Diagram shows various parts of the steam mop:

*A Phillips or flat head screwdriver can be used. Screwdriver not included.

Steam Mop Assembly

Step 1: Insert the Mop Handle end labeled "Front" into the Steam Mop Housing. Ensure it is inserted past the line printed on the pole. Secure the assembled handle and pole using the large screw and a Phillips or flat head screwdriver. [Diagram showing handle assembly]

Step 2: Use the lavender loop on the side of the micro-fiber cleaning pad to slide the mop head into the pad pocket. Secure the quick fasteners on the top of the pocket to lock in place. [Diagram showing pad attachment]

Step 3: Snap the mop head into the base to secure it. [Diagram showing mop head snapping into base]

Step 4: Turn the water tank cap counter-clockwise and remove it. Use the filling flask to pour water into the tank, but do not overfill. Replace the cap securely. [Diagram showing water tank filling]

Important Note: Do not use on unsealed wood or unglazed ceramic floors. On surfaces treated with wax or some no-wax floors, the sheen may be removed by heat and steam. Always test an isolated area first. Check floor manufacturer's instructions. For longevity, use distilled water.

Using Your Steam Mop

First Use: When using the mop for the first time, it may take longer than the usual 30 seconds to start steaming.

Preparation: Ensure the mop is unplugged when not in use. Never fill, attach the head, or change the pad while plugged in. Sweep or vacuum floors before cleaning.

Step 1: Unwrap the power cord by pulling and twisting the quick release cord holder. Plug into a 120-volt electrical outlet. [Diagram showing cord unwrapping and plugging in]

Step 2: The ON/STANDBY button will flash blue. If it does not turn on, refer to the troubleshooting section. [Diagram showing ON/STANDBY button]

Selecting Your Steam Setting

Press the ON/STANDBY button to cycle through settings:

Refer to page 7 for detailed guidance on which setting to use for specific cleaning tasks.

Step 4: Clean floors with a forward and backward motion. [Diagram showing forward and backward cleaning motion]

Press the ON/STANDBY button until the light flashes to stop steam.

Step 3: If finished mopping, press the ON/STANDBY button until the LED flashes blue to stop steaming. Unplug the cord and place the mop upright. Let it cool for 2-3 minutes.

Care of Your Micro-Fiber Cleaning Pad

Step 1: Wash pads separately from other fabrics to avoid lint. Use only liquid detergent (no powder). Do not use fabric softeners or bleach. Line dry or tumble dry on low heat. [Diagram showing pad washing instructions]

Step 2: If loose threads appear, carefully cut them with scissors. Do not pull or cut at the base. [Diagram showing thread trimming]

Important: The micro-fiber cleaning pad can be very hot. Use caution when removing. Let the unit cool for 2-3 minutes before removing.

Cleaning the Nozzle

To prevent clogging, periodically clean the Direct Steam Nozzle and extension hose stem with the provided cleaning tool or a paper clip. [Diagram showing nozzle cleaning tip]

Step 1: If steam output decreases, mineral deposits may need removal.

Step 2: Unplug the cleaner.

Step 3: Use the provided nozzle cleaner or a small stiff metal wire (like a paperclip) to carefully insert into the nozzle orifice. [Diagram showing nozzle cleaning tool insertion]

Step 4: Move the wire back and forth to remove deposits.

Step 5: Plug in and test steam output.

Troubleshooting Guide

PROBLEM POSSIBLE REASONS & SOLUTIONS
The Shark® Lift-Away™ Pro Steam Pocket® Mop will not turn-on. Ensure the mop is securely plugged into a 120V AC electrical outlet. Check your fuse or breaker. If the unit still does not work, call 1-800-798-7398.
The unit will not make steam. Check if there is water in the tank. If not, add water following page 4 instructions. If steam still does not produce, follow decalcification instructions on page 14.
Cannot select steam setting/flashing blue light remains on. Unplug the unit and try a different outlet. This may reset the standby mode. Add water to the tank and select steam setting by pressing the standby button. If the unit still does not work, call Customer care at 1-800-798-7398.
The Shark® Lift-Away™ Pro Steam Pocket® Mop leaves water on the floor. Check if the micro-fiber cleaning pad is too wet. Unplug the mop and change the pad. Ensure the pad is attached correctly. Do not leave the mop on the floor with a damp or wet pad. If using tap water, switch to distilled water. Ensure the water tank cap is secure.
The Shark® Lift-Away™ Pro Steam Pocket® Mop left a white spot on the floor. The micro-fiber cleaning pad might be dirty; flip or change it. If washed with powder detergent, it may be ruined (replacement pads available at sharkclean.com). This could also indicate prior soap or grease residue on the floor. Rinse the floor with water only, let it dry, then steam mop with a clean pad. A vinegar/water mix may be needed for stubborn residue.
Floors are cloudy, streaky or spotty after steaming. Ensure the micro-fiber cleaning pad is attached correctly and is not excessively dirty. Replace if needed. This may also be due to floor residue, requiring rinsing and drying before steam mopping.
The Shark® Lift-Away™ Pro Steam Pocket® Mop is hard to push. Ensure the micro-fiber cleaning pad is attached correctly and is not excessively dirty. Replace if needed.
The nozzle leaves water drops on the garment. Ensure the small steam bonnet frame is in place. If the bonnet is too wet or has condensation, let the unit cool, remove the bonnet, and let it dry. Replace if necessary.
