Important Safety Instructions
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS STEAM MOP.
This steam mop has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT attempt to defeat this safety feature. It is not recommended to use an extension cord with this product.
General Warnings:
- DO NOT leave the steam mop unattended when plugged in. ALWAYS unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet when not in use and before servicing.
- DO NOT use with a damaged cord or plug. Return to SharkNinja Operating LLC for examination and repair if the unit is not working correctly, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water.
- DO NOT immerse the steam mop in water or any other liquids to protect against electric shock.
- DO NOT handle the plug or steam mop with wet hands or operate without wearing shoes.
- DO NOT pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. DO NOT run steam mop over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
- DO NOT unplug by pulling on power cord; grasp the plug. DO NOT use extension cords or outlets with inadequate current-carrying capacity.
- Unplug before servicing.
- ALWAYS ensure the steam mop is UNPLUGGED when not in use.

Intelligent Steam Control®
The Shark Steam Mop offers 2 settings to select the ideal steam amount:
Setting | Ideal For These Sealed Surfaces | Recommended Usage |
---|---|---|
NORMAL | Laminate, Hardwood, Vinyl, Marble, Tile, Stone | Basic, everyday cleaning. Cleaning large areas. Cleaning moderate and heavy-traffic areas. Pads spin faster, more steam produced. |
LIGHT | (Implied for delicate surfaces) | Cleaning delicate surfaces, Light cleaning and dusting, Loosening and lifting light dirt. |
Steam Blaster®
- To target tough messes, move the front of the nozzle 2 to 4 inches from the mess, then press and hold the Steam Blaster trigger as needed. Hold longer for tougher messes. (See Figure 3: Steam Blaster nozzle position).
- Before scrubbing, wait 5 seconds for the steam blast to penetrate the mess. For more difficult messes, allow 20 seconds or more.
To Sanitize Floors*
- Attach clean Dirt Grip® Soft Scrub Pads to the mop head.
- Plug in the unit, tilt the mop handle down, and press the mode button to select NORMAL mode. Pads will start spinning.
- Wait at least 20 seconds for steam production.
- Start mopping with a forward and backward motion on an appropriate sealed hard floor surface. After three minutes, the unit is ready to sanitize.
- Move the mop head slowly and evenly over the area to be sanitized, applying continuous downward pressure. Repeat slowly, covering the entire area with at least 15 strokes.
*Sanitization studies were conducted under controlled test conditions. Follow all directions carefully. Successful sanitization results have been demonstrated against specific bacteria species.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Possible Reasons & Solutions |
---|---|
The steam mop isn't producing any steam. | Ensure unit is securely plugged in. Check fuse/breaker or try another outlet. Make sure water tank is full, unit is plugged in, and mode button is illuminated. If lights are off, try another outlet. If lights are blinking, select a steam setting. If lights are steady, wait 20 seconds for warm-up. |
The steam mop is producing intermittent steam. | For consistent steam, select NORMAL mode and ensure the water tank is full. |
I can't select a steam setting. | Ensure the steam mop is plugged in and the settings lights are flashing. |
Floors are cloudy, streaky, or spotty after steaming. | Dirt Grip® Soft Scrub Pads might be dirty; install clean pads. If pads were washed with powdered detergent, they may be damaged and need replacement. Floor may require several cleanings due to soap/grease residue. For stubborn cases, rinse floor with a 1:2 vinegar/water mix (DO NOT put solution in the mop). Consult flooring manufacturer's instructions before using any cleaning products. |
It's hard to push or pull the mop. | Ensure Dirt Grip® Soft Scrub Pads are wet enough. Overly dirty pads make it harder to move; use clean pads. The mop may be in the upright position; tilt the handle down. Pads may not be centered; unplug, let cool, and reinstall pads. |
Rotating discs are not turning or are wobbling. | Dirt Grip® Soft Scrub Pads may not be centered on the rotating discs. Turn power OFF, unplug, wait for pads to cool, then reinstall pads correctly. |
The steam mop is vibrating or wobbling. | Dirt Grip® Soft Scrub Pads are not centered on the rotating discs. Turn power OFF, unplug, wait for pads to cool, then follow assembly instructions to reinstall pads. |
Caring for Your Steam Mop
After Use and Storage
- Press the mode button until lights blink (Standby mode). Unplug the cord and place the mop upright. Allow it to cool completely. (See Figure 4: Mop in upright position).
- Wait until pads have cooled completely, then carefully pull them off the discs, avoiding sharp edges. (See Figure 5: Removing pads).
- After the unit has cooled and steam released, empty the water tank. Open lid, pour water into a sink or bathtub, then close lid.
- To store, wait until cooled and steam released. Lock the mop in an upright standing position by raising the handle until the pole is straight. Store in a dry, protected area.
Dirt Grip® Soft Scrub Pads Care Instructions
- Care: Machine-wash pads separately with warm water and liquid detergent. Do not clean in a dishwasher, as detergents can cause streaks.
- NEVER USE BLEACH, POWDERED DETERGENT, OR FABRIC SOFTENERS: These will damage pads or reduce performance.
- Line-dry or tumble-dry on low setting to extend microfiber life.
- Loose fibers can be trimmed with scissors; do not pull them. (See Figure 6: Trimming fibers).
Replacement Pads
For best results, replace pads every 3-4 months with normal use. Dirt, grease, friction, and washing can break down fibers. You can purchase replacement pads and accessories at sharkclean.com.
