Configuration Steps

Connect the USB-C cable to the Talk microphone.

Connect the USB-A end of the cable to the USB input of your PC or Mac.

Configuring Talk with a PC / MAC
For PC (Windows 7, 8, or 10):
- Navigate to the Start menu and select Control Panel.
- Within Control Panel, locate and select the Sound icon.
- Go to the Recording tab and select "JLab Talk" from the list.
- Go to the Playback tab and select "JLab Talk" for audio output.
For MAC (macOS 10.10 or later):
- Open System Preferences and select the Sound icon.
- Select the Input tab and choose "JLab Talk".
- Select the Output tab and choose "JLab Talk".
- Adjust the output volume to your preferred level using the slider on this screen.
Microphone Settings & Controls
Controls:
- Mute/Unmute: Press the button to toggle mute on or off.
- Volume/Gain Adjustment: Rotate the control wheel to adjust the volume or gain level.
Ports:
- [3.5mm Aux Out] port: For connecting headphones or speakers.
- [USB-C Input] port: For connecting to your computer.
Base: The base of the microphone.
Polar Patterns Explained
Cardioid: Optimized for recording sound originating from the front of the microphone.

Usage & Positioning
For the best audio quality, ensure proper microphone placement.

Important Notes
- The JLab Audio Talk microphone is compatible with most recording software on macOS, Windows, and Linux. Please check your specific software settings for optimal performance.
- No additional drivers or software are necessary for the Talk microphone. It is plug-and-play.
- This microphone does not support external battery packs. It requires a direct USB-A connection to a computer or compatible device.
