Features

Product Description

The MINI-1AC-CASAMBI is a single-channel Alternating Current (AC) Trailing Edge dimmer, supplied by a 230 Vac mains power grid. It is suitable for driving single-color AC loads such as incandescent and halogen lamps, LED switching lamps, LED strips/lamps, and dimmable drivers in Trailing Edge mode.

The AC dimmer features an internal 1 A fuse for circuit protection, making an external fuse optional. It has a maximum output current of 1.52 A and includes protections for input fuse, output short-circuit, short-circuit detection, and output open-circuit detection.

Control can be achieved remotely via Bluetooth using the CASAMBI® mobile app or locally via a Normally Open (N.O.) button connected to the phase, neutral, or as a dry contact. The device automatically recognizes the wiring type upon power-up and configures itself accordingly.

The MINI-1AC-CASAMBI enables dynamic lighting control systems, including scenarios, animations, timers, and daylight controls. The CASAMBI® mobile application, available for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, allows for detailed configuration of parameters like maximum/minimum brightness levels.

Installation

WARNING! Installation and maintenance must always be carried out in the absence of voltage.

Before proceeding with the connection of the device to the 230 Vac mains, ensure that the mains voltage is disconnected from the system.

The device should only be connected and installed by qualified personnel. All applicable building regulations, legislation, rules, and codes must be complied with. Incorrect installation of the device may cause irreparable damage to the device and connected loads.

Follow these steps for safe installation:

  1. Load wiring: Connect the load to the "AC OUT" terminals, respecting the load's technical data. Connect the neutral of the load to the terminal marked "N" and the phase to the terminal marked "OUT".
  2. Local control wiring: Connect the N.O. button to the "IN" and "N" terminals of the "PUSH" input, following one of the wiring diagrams shown in Figure 3.
  3. Power supply wiring: Connect the 230 Vac @ 50 Hz mains power supply to the "AC IN" terminals, observing the Live (L) and Neutral (N) conventions for the "L" and "N" terminals respectively.
  4. Remote control pairing: Power ON the MINI-1AC-CASAMBI and follow the pairing instructions provided on the CASAMBI® mobile app.

Wiring Diagram

The MINI-1AC-CASAMBI has one output channel that can be driven independently. The diagram illustrates how to connect a single AC load to the AC OUT output channel.

Connecting the Local Command

Figure 3 presents three wiring possibilities for local control: an N.O. switch connected as a Neutral (N) contact, connected to Live (L), or connected to Neutral (N).

ATTENTION! The PUSH-N terminal is internally connected to the AC IN-N terminal (Neutral). Therefore, it must be treated as a 230 Vac mains voltage terminal. Before connecting, ensure the mains voltage is disconnected.

Technical Notes

Installation

WARNING! Installation and maintenance should always be performed in the absence of AC voltage.

Before installation, adjustment, and connection to the power supply, ensure the mains voltage is disconnected.

Installation and maintenance must be conducted by qualified personnel adhering to all applicable regulations, legislation, standards, and building codes. Incorrect installation can lead to irreparable damage to the device and connected loads.

The product must be installed in an electrical panel or junction box protected against overvoltage. The external power supply must be protected by a suitably sized circuit breaker with overcurrent protection.

Keep 230 Vac (LV) circuits separate from SELV ultra-low voltage circuits and product connections. Connecting the 230 Vac mains voltage to product control terminals is strictly forbidden.

The product must be installed vertically or horizontally, with the faceplate/label/top cover facing up. Downward orientation is not allowed.

Ensure adequate space around the device for accessibility during future maintenance or updates (e.g., via smartphone).

Operation in harsh thermal environments may limit output power. For devices embedded in luminaires, the TA ambient temperature range is a guideline. Proper thermal management (mounting, ventilation) within the luminaire is crucial to prevent the Tc point from exceeding its maximum limit. Guaranteed operation and durability depend on staying within the Tc point limits.

Power Supply and Load

The device requires a 230 Vac @ 50Hz mains power supply. Using an unsuitable power supply may cause the device to operate outside specified limits and void the warranty.

Power cables for the device and output load must be correctly sized, isolated from other wiring. If a load with high in-rush current is connected, false shorts may be detected; consider disabling the Short Circuit detection function in such cases.

The device is designed exclusively for Trailing Edge dimmable loads. Connecting incompatible loads may lead to operation outside specified limits and void the warranty.

Cable length between the product and LED module should ideally be less than 3m. Cables must be correctly sized and insulated from non-SELV wiring. Double-insulated cables are recommended. For cables longer than 3m, the installer must ensure correct system operation. The total cable length to the LED module must not exceed 30m.

Do not connect different load types to the same output channel.

Verify load compliance. An EMC filter may be necessary upstream of the device's power supply to mitigate disturbances.

If loads not complying with EN 61000-3-2 are connected, the installer is responsible for ensuring system compliance.

An inrush current limiter is recommended for loads with high in-rush current.

Local Command

Connection cables for the local control (N.O. button) should be less than 30m and correctly sized. They must be isolated from any non-SELV live wiring or parts, depending on the connection used. Double-insulated cables are recommended, potentially shielded.

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Warnings and Mobile App Notes

The BLE antenna is located inside the device, near the top. BLE range is typically 10-50 meters, influenced by environment and obstacles. Ensure devices are within range for reliable communication.

Physical barriers (walls, floors) can reduce BLE range and signal strength. Position devices to minimize these obstacles.

Other electronic devices operating on the 2.4 GHz frequency (e.g., Wi-Fi routers) can interfere with BLE signals. Keep BLE devices away from these sources.

Ensure all devices in your BLE network are compatible and support the same BLE version to avoid communication issues.

While BLE is low power, battery life of control devices (smartphones, tablets) can be affected by transmission frequency and data volume. Manage power settings for optimal battery life.

BLE works best with non-metallic materials. Avoid surrounding the device with metal objects or reflective surfaces.

For reliable communication, ensure the top surface is clear of metal objects, wiring, or other electronic devices.

To ensure optimal performance and access to all functions, download the latest CASAMBI® mobile app. Follow instructions for profile upgrades to benefit from new features.

Functionality tests are performed on all dimmers. If the device is still paired to a "Dalcnet network", unpair it following instructions in the CASAMBI® mobile app or the "Unpair from CASAMBI® Network" section.

Fixture Configuration

After verifying the technical data of the connected load, configure light intensity and/or light temperature by loading the appropriate Fixture onto the driver. Follow these steps:

  1. Power ON the device and open the CASAMBI® mobile app.
  2. Select "Nearby Devices".
  3. Tap the device icon, then tap "Change profile".
  4. Select the desired profile (refer to Table 13).
  5. Tap "Start Update".
  6. Wait for the profile to load correctly.
  7. Once the device is in the Network, double-tap its icon to view device configuration.
  8. Within the device configuration, adjust LED module brightness using the provided sliders.

Unpair Device from CASAMBI® Network

If the MINI-1AC-CASAMBI is connected to a network without credentials and needs to be associated with a new one, follow instructions in the CASAMBI® mobile app's "Nearby Devices" section.

To unpair: Turn off the power supply to the MINI-1AC-CASAMBI, wait 1-2 seconds, then turn it back on. If the power cycle is too quick, unpairing might fail; repeat by waiting 1-2 seconds between power off and on.

Alternatively, connect an N.O. push button to an "INPUT" terminal of the MINI-1AC-CASAMBI and press it during the decoupling procedure.
