Sharp TV Quick Start Guide

This guide provides essential information for setting up and using your new Sharp television. Please read these instructions carefully before operating the appliance.

Important Safety Instructions

CAUTION: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK - DO NOT OPEN

Always keep candles and other open flames away from this product to prevent fire.

This equipment is a Class II or double insulated electrical appliance and does not require a safety connection to electrical earth.

What is included in the box

The following parts are included with your TV:

Attaching the stand

Please follow the instructions in the Technical leaflet, located in the accessories bag.

Wall mounting the TV

Install the wall mounting bracket to the television as advised by the bracket manufacturer.

Connections

For connecting external devices, see the last page of this manual.

Getting started - initial set up

  1. If rubber parts, foam parts, or tape are attached to the TV frame, please remove them gently.
  2. Using the antenna cable (not supplied), connect the TV to the antenna wall socket.
  3. To use a wired Internet connection, connect a Cat 5/Ethernet cable (not included) from the TV to your broadband modem/router.
  4. Insert the supplied batteries into the remote control.
  5. Connect the power cable to the electrical outlet.
  6. Press the standby button to switch on the TV. After loading, the TV First Time Installation begins.
  7. Select a language for your TV menus and information.
  8. Continue to set the most suitable options for you until installation completion.
  9. During the setup, you'll have the option to pair the remote control with the TV. Pairing the remote will enable voice control for the TV and allow you to search for content using your voice. If you choose not to pair the remote at this time, you can do so later via the settings menu.

On/Off button

The On/Off button is located on the bottom side of the LED light. Press this button to switch on/off the TV.

Choosing an Input/Source

Using the buttons on the remote control:

  1. Press the INPUT button. The source menu will appear.
  2. Press [▲] or [▼] to select the input you require.
  3. Press [OK].

TV menu navigation

Use the ▲/▼/◄/► buttons to focus on the desired item. Press the OK button to select the item currently in focus. Press the BACK button to go back one step in the menu. Long press the BACK button to leave the menu. Press the (TiVo) button to display the TV's Home screen.

Electronic instruction manual

To access more useful information directly from your TV, you can launch the online manual by following these steps:

  1. Press the (TiVo) button on your remote.
  2. On the Home screen, navigate to the control carousel and select [Life Portal].
  3. In the portal, select the option [Instruction manual].

NOTE: Please ensure that your TV is connected to the internet in order to use this electronic manual.

Voice control

Pairing the remote control

To use voice control, the remote and the TV must be paired. This pairing is usually done during the initial setup of the TV. If you skipped this part of the setup, you can manually pair the remote by following these steps:

  1. Press the (settings) button to open the settings menu.
  2. Go to [System] > [Remote Control].
  3. A screen with pairing instructions will be displayed.
  4. Press and hold the left arrow button and the (TiVo) button simultaneously. When a message about successful pairing appears, you can release the buttons.
  5. Your remote is now paired with your TV.

Searching content with your voice

When your remote is paired, you can now use your voice to search for content. Follow these steps:

  1. Press and hold the (microphone) button.
  2. Speak naturally into the direction of the remote while continuing to hold down the microphone button.
  3. Release the button when you finish speaking.

Voice control search is extremely powerful and intelligent. The following are a few examples of voice control terms/phrases:

  1. (standby) – Switch on the TV when in standby or vice versa.
  2. INPUT – Displays the input/source menu.
  3. NUMBER BUTTONS – 0-9 to select a TV channel directly.
  4. (mute) – Mutes the sound or vice versa.
  5. GUIDE – Opens the 7 day TV guide (digital TV mode).
  6. (settings) – Opens the Settings menu.
  7. (microphone) – Search for content and control the TV by voice. Press and hold the button, then speak into the microphone.
  8. INFO – Short press: Press once to view information about the program you are currently watching. Press again to display the TV channel list. Long press: Opens Sharp Life Portal.
  9. (▲/▼/◄/►/OK) – Allows you to navigate the on-screen menus and adjust the system settings to your preference.
  10. BACK – Short press: Step back in the menu. Long press: Exit the current menu or application.
  11. (TiVo) – Short press: Displays the TV's home screen. Long press: Opens the apps menu.
  12. FREELY – (UK models) Short press: Access the Freely service. Only available in the UK. (EU models) Long Press: A list of apps opens. Select the app you want to assign to this button for quick access. Short press: Launches the remembered app.
  13. VOL (+/-) – Tilt to increase/decrease the sound level.
  14. CH (+/-) – Tilt to switch to the next/previous channel in the sequence.
  15. NETFLIX – Access the Netflix App.
  16. Prime video – Access the Prime video App.
  17. DISNEY+ – Access to the Disney+ app.
  18. YOUTUBE – Access to the YouTube app.
  19. AUDIO – Opens audio track menu.
  20. SUB – Turns on/off subtitles at the bottom of the screen.
  21. TEXT – Turns teletext on/off.
  22. TV – Switches the TV to the last watched input.
  23. – Play/pause media.
  24. ◄◄ – Play in fast rewind mode.
  25. ►► – Play in fast forward mode.
  26. – Stop playback.
  27. COLOUR BUTTONS – Execute corresponding function at that time.
