Introduction
This document provides a quick start guide for your Sharp Roku TV, covering essential information from setup to safety and technical specifications.

Important Safety Instructions
Please read and follow these safety instructions carefully before operating the appliance.
General Precautions:
- Keep candles and open flames away from the product to prevent fire. ?
- This is a Class II or double insulated electrical appliance and does not require an earth connection.
- For TVs with 43" screens or larger, use at least two people for lifting and carrying.
- The TV contains no user-repairable parts. Contact authorized service agents for faults.
- Do not remove the rear cover.
- The appliance is designed for video and sound signal reception and reproduction only.
- Do not expose the TV to dripping or splashing liquids.
- To disconnect from mains, unplug the power cord from the socket.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid hazards.
- Maintain a viewing distance of approximately three times the screen diagonal for HD TV. Minimize screen reflections from light sources.
- Ensure adequate ventilation: install at least 5 cm from walls and keep ventilation openings clear of obstructions (e.g., newspapers, curtains).
- The TV is designed for moderate climates and dry locations. Protect from moisture (rain, splashing water) if used outdoors.
- Do not place objects or liquid-filled containers (e.g., vases) on the TV. Place the TV only on flat, stable surfaces. Avoid placing objects under the TV.
- Ensure power cables are not pinched or damaged. Keep devices that may cause electromagnetic interference (e.g., mobile phones, WLAN adapters) away from the appliance.
- Do not place the appliance near heating elements or in direct sunlight, as this can affect cooling and reduce lifespan.
- Prevent damage to the mains cable or adapter. Use only the supplied cable/adapter.
- Disconnect cables and connectors during thunderstorms to prevent damage from lightning strikes.
- Clean the screen only with a damp, soft cloth using clean water. Never use detergents or solvents.
- Position the TV close to the wall to prevent it from falling if pushed.
- WARNING: Never place a television in an unstable location. A falling TV can cause serious injury or death. Take precautions, especially for children: use recommended stands/furniture, ensure the TV does not overhang edges, anchor furniture and TV if placed on tall units, keep children from climbing on the TV.
- TV operating conditions: Temperature +10 to +35°C, Humidity max 80% (at 25°C), Atmospheric pressure 86-106 kPa.
Warning:
- When turning off, use the standby button. Long-pressing it enters energy-saving standby mode.
- For electrostatic discharge (ESD) testing, manual operation of the standby button may be required to resume normal operation.
- Allow the TV to warm up to room temperature before use after unpacking.
- Never connect external devices to a live appliance; switch off both the TV and the devices first. Plug the TV into the wall socket only after connecting external devices and the aerial.
- Ensure the TV mains plug is always accessible.
- The appliance is not designed for use in a workplace with monitors.
- Prolonged use of headphones at high volume can cause irreversible hearing damage.
- Dispose of the appliance and batteries responsibly.
Screen Care: Avoid displaying fixed images for extended periods to prevent permanent "shadow images" or "burn-in". Reduce brightness/contrast to a minimum viewing level. Avoid displaying Teletext, TV/DVD menus, or using the "Pause" mode for long durations.
Batteries:
- CAUTION: Risk of explosion if battery type is incorrect.
- Observe correct polarity when inserting batteries.
- Do not expose batteries to high temperatures, fire, or direct sunlight.
- Do not throw batteries into fire, disassemble, or attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
- Never mix new and old batteries or different battery types.
- Dispose of batteries environmentally.
Disposal: Do not dispose of this TV as unsorted municipal waste. Return it to a designated collection point for WEEE recycling to conserve resources and protect the environment. Contact your retailer or local authorities for more information.

Getting Started: Initial Setup
Follow these steps to set up your TV:
- Remove any rubber parts, foam, or tape from the TV frame.
- Connect the TV to the antenna wall socket using an antenna cable (not supplied).
- For a wired internet connection, connect a Cat 5/Ethernet cable from the TV to your broadband modem/router.
- Insert the supplied AAA batteries into the remote control.
- Connect the power cable to an electrical outlet.
- Press the Standby button on the remote to turn on the TV.
- Follow the on-screen prompts for the First Time Installation menu.
- Select your preferred language for the TV menu.
- Configure the desired settings in the remaining installation screens.
Connecting to an Aerial
To access over-the-air broadcast television:
- Connect the coaxial cable from your aerial antenna to the "Live TV" connector on the back of your Roku TV.
- Turn on your Roku TV, go to Home, and select Live TV. If Live TV is not listed, add it via Settings > TV inputs > Live TV > Set up input.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Roku Mobile App
Control your Roku device using the Roku mobile app. Ensure your mobile device is on the same wireless network as your Roku TV. Download the app from the official Apple App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android).

TV Control Button
The TV has a single control button located at the bottom of the LED light.
- In standby mode: Short press the button to turn on the TV.
- In working status:
- Long press the button to enter active standby for about 15 minutes, after which it enters passive standby.
- Short press to open the Inputs menu. Cycle through items using short presses.
- Close: Exit the Inputs menu.
- Turn off TV: Puts the TV into standby mode.
- Blu-ray Player: Access external devices connected via HDMI or AV.
- Live TV: Access Live TV mode.
- Home: Access the home screen.
Accessibility and Language
The Accessibility & language menu allows you to adjust TV settings without leaving the current program. These settings are also available via Settings > Accessibility on the Home Screen Menu.
Accessibility & Language Menu Settings:
- Subtitles: Controls subtitle display for broadcast, streaming, and media player videos. Options include Off, Always On, On only when TV sound is muted, or On only during instant replay.
- Subtitles track: Selects the subtitle language from available options.
- Hard of hearing: Includes descriptions of non-dialogue audio (e.g., sound effects) within subtitles for broadcast TV.
- Audio description: Enables audio descriptions and adjusts their volume relative to TV volume (Off, Low, Medium, High).
- Audio language: Selects the desired audio track language.
- Screen reader: (Available when TV Language is set to English) Provides a text-to-speech interface to navigate the Roku UI. Can be enabled/disabled via a shortcut (pressing the STAR ⭐ button four times).
- Speech rate: Adjusts the speed of the screen reader voice.
- Screen reader volume: Sets the screen reader volume relative to the main TV volume.
- Screen reader pitch: Selects the desired pitch for the screen reader voice.
Screen reader shortcut: Enables or disables the screen reader shortcut.
Teletext: Provides text and graphical information (not available in the UK).
Picture Off
Select "Picture off" to turn off the screen while continuing to play audio (useful for music or podcasts). Press OK to turn the picture back on, or turn the TV off and on again.

Remote Control
Familiarize yourself with the remote control buttons:
- 1. STANDBY: Turns the TV on and off.
- 2. GUIDE: Displays the program guide.
- 3. APPS KEYS: Access specific applications.
- 4. BACK: Returns to the previous menu/screen or Home screen.
- 5. HOME: Returns to the Home screen.
- 6. VOLUME UP / DOWN: Adjusts volume.
- 7. DIRECTIONAL PAD (▲/▼/◄/►/OK): Navigates menus and selects options.
- 8. CHANNEL UP / DOWN: Changes channels or scrolls through lists.
- 9. REPLAY: Returns to the previous channel.
- 10. MUTE: Mutes/unmutes TV sound.
- 11. STAR ⭐: Displays additional options.
- 12. REWIND: Fast rewind.
- 13. PLAY/PAUSE: Plays or pauses media.
- 14. FAST FWD: Fast forward.
- 15. COLOUR KEYS: Functions vary by HbbTV app or Teletext service.
- 16. NUMBER KEYS: Direct channel or number entry.
- 17. EXIT: Exits HbbTV apps or Teletext.
- 18. TXT: Turns Teletext on/off.

Stand Installation
To assemble the base stand to the TV, you will need a cross-head screwdriver. Place the TV on a soft, flat surface with the LCD screen facing downwards to prevent damage during assembly.
The process involves attaching the stand legs to the designated points on the TV's rear base using screws.
Connecting External Devices
The TV supports various external device connections:
- RF IN: For antenna connection.
- SAT IN: For satellite receiver connection.
- CAM: Slot for conditional access modules.
- USB: For connecting USB storage devices or other compatible accessories.
- HDMI: For connecting high-definition audio and video sources like Blu-ray players, game consoles, or computers.
- Composite/CVBS Video + Audio: For connecting older analog devices.
