Diagrams and Curves
Block Diagram
The block diagram illustrates the internal architecture of the DDR-480 series converter. It shows the signal flow from the DC input (DC I/P) through an EMI filter, followed by a power switching stage controlled by PWM control and OLP (Overload Protection). The output is processed by rectifiers and a filter, with OVP (Over Voltage Protection) and a detection circuit. A current share function is included for parallel operation. The output includes DC OK status, +Vo, -Vo, and P+/P- terminals for current sharing.
Derating Curve (Ambient Temperature)
This curve shows the load percentage versus ambient temperature. The converter can operate at 100% load continuously up to 60°C. For temperatures between 60°C and 80°C, derating is required. A peak load of 150% is supported for 5 seconds.
Output Derating VS Input Voltage
This graph illustrates how output load capacity is affected by input voltage for different model types (B, C, D). It shows the typical input voltage ranges for each type and how the maximum load percentage changes with input voltage, indicating that derating may be necessary at lower input voltages within a type's range.
Hold-up Time
The hold-up time is the duration the output voltage remains within specification after the input power is removed. The table and graphs show minimum hold-up times for various load conditions (100%, 70%, other) and models (B, C, D types). For example, B type at 100% load has a minimum hold-up time of 10ms.
Efficiency vs Load & Vin Curve
These graphs display the efficiency of the DDR-480 series converters across different load percentages (10% to 100%) and input voltage variations for each specific model. Generally, efficiency is high, often exceeding 90%, and is relatively stable across the load range, with slight variations depending on the input voltage.
Input Under-Voltage Protection
Graphs illustrate the input voltage thresholds for turning the output ON and OFF. For example, the DDR-480B-24 turns ON at approximately 16.8Vdc and OFF at approximately 16.5Vdc. Similar thresholds are shown for C and D types.
Inrush Current
The inrush current is suppressed by a resistor during initial start-up, followed by a bypass via MOSFETs to reduce power consumption. The graph shows a characteristic inrush current waveform with an initial peak followed by a rapid decrease to the normal operating current.
