The LCD screen will turn on, indicating the device is working. Use the original USB TYPE C power supply or one with a power output greater than 25W.
  2. Step 2: Connect Video Source
    • For CVBS Video source (optional): Use the included DC jump cable to connect the DC Out port on ZowieRec to the DC IN port on the AV-to-HDMI converter. Connect the RCA cable from the video source's output port to the CVBS port on the converter. Connect the HDMI OUT port of the converter to the HDMI IN port on ZowieRec using the included HDMI cable. If using CVBS, call up the menu via the remote and select CVBS mode in Video Input.
    • For HDMI video source: Use the HDMI cable to connect your video source (e.g., DVD player, gaming system) to the HDMI IN port on the ZowieRec.
  3. Step 3: Connect to TV/Monitor Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT port of ZowieRec to your TV or monitor.
  4. Step 4: Connect Storage Device Plug a USB storage device into the USB port of ZowieRec, or insert a TF card into the TF port.

7.5 Advanced Settings

This section is for advanced users, particularly for network and video live streaming configurations. ZowieRec supports Power over Ethernet (PoE/PoE+). For PoE, connect the LAN cable to a PoE network switch using at least a CAT5e cable.

Failsafe IP: If DHCP is unavailable or direct PC connection occurs, the ZowieREC IP defaults to 192.168.5.168. Add a 192.168.5.x address to your computer to log in to the Web console. Refer to the user manual for detailed PC settings. Default Admin Login: Username: admin; Password: admin.

8. Restore Factory Setting and Reboot

Access the menu settings, navigate to System Settings, and select Reboot or Restore factory default settings.

9. Firmware Upgrading

Download the upgrade package and unzip it. Copy the two files, md5.json and ZOWIEREC.001.20250217.V1.1.0.3.img, to the root directory of a USB or TF card. Ensure they are not in a folder, as this may cause the upgrade to fail.

Access the menu, select the upgrade option. The device will automatically check and upgrade. Do not power off the ZowieRec during the upgrade process.
