2. Device Installation and Connection
Ensure your phone, PC, or iPad is on the same local area network (LAN) or Wi-Fi as the ZowieBox.
1. Connect Video Signal
Connect your video source (e.g., camera) to the ZowieBox's HDMI input port using an HDMI cable. The ZowieBox automatically detects video formats and resolutions.
2. Connect Network
Use a LAN cable to connect the ZowieBox to a network switch or router that has DHCP enabled.
3. Connect Power Supply:
- Using USB-C: Connect the ZowieBox to the provided USB TYPE C power adapter. The LCD screen will illuminate upon receiving power.
- Using PoE: The ZowieBox supports Power over Ethernet (PoE/PoE+). Connect the LAN cable to a PoE-enabled network switch. A CAT5e LAN cable is recommended for PoE connections.
3. LCD Screen Information
The ZowieBox's LCD screen provides real-time status and system information, alternating between two display modes:
First Screen:
Displays the current encoder mode (e.g., 'Encoder NDI HX2'), Video Input (VI) resolution and bitrate, NDI stream name, IP address, and DHCP status.
Second Screen:
Shows detailed operational metrics including CPU temperature, available memory (Mem Free), free disk space (Disk Free), current working mode, NDI or stream format, input/output resolution, loop-out status, encoder/decoder bitrate, tally color, Wi-Fi status, hotspot status, and LAN status.
4. Device Management - Login Methods
The ZowieBox offers five methods to access its web console:
1. Via IP Address:
The ZowieBox's DHCP is enabled by default. Locate the IP address displayed on the first screen of the LCD and enter it into your web browser (e.g., http://192.168.1.126
).
2. Via mDNS:
Enter the mDNS URL found on the bottom label of the ZowieBox into your computer or mobile phone's browser (e.g., http://ZowieBox-xxxxx.local
).
3. Via Hotspot:
Connect your mobile device directly to the ZowieBox's Wi-Fi hotspot. The SSID and password are listed on the bottom label. Once connected, open a browser and navigate to http://192.168.100.1
. A prompt indicating no internet connection is normal.
4. Via Device Discover:
If you have other ZowieBox or ZowiePTZ products, use the ZowieTek Live web console. Navigate to 'Setting > Dashboard', click 'Scan', and select your new ZowieBox from the list using its serial number.
5. Via Failsafe IP:
In cases where DHCP is not available, a direct LAN connection to a PC, or other network errors, the ZowieBox defaults to a failsafe IP address (e.g., 192.168.5.168
). Configure your computer's network adapter with an IP address in the 192.168.5.x
range to access the web console. Refer to the full user manual for detailed PC configuration.
