Sound Sensitivity and Sound Activation
Adjust the sound sensitivity of the baby unit to control when the parent unit screen turns on. The parent unit screen activates only when detected sounds exceed a set level.
Use the parent unit to adjust the microphone sensitivity. Higher levels mean the baby unit is more sensitive to sounds.
Sound Sensitivity Levels:
- Level 5 (Highest): Parent unit screen turns on for quiet sounds and background noises.
- Level 4 (High): Parent unit screen turns on for soft babbling and louder sounds. Remains off when the baby sleeps soundly.
- Level 3 (Medium): Parent unit screen turns on for loud babbling and louder sounds. Remains off for soft sounds.
- Level 2 (Low): Parent unit screen turns on for crying and louder sounds. Remains off for soft sounds.
- Level 1 (Lowest): Parent unit screen turns on for loud crying or screeching sounds. Remains off for soft sounds.
When AUTO is selected, the parent unit screen stays off to save power when the baby unit detects sounds lower than the set sensitivity level. The screen turns on automatically when sounds exceed the set level and turns off again after 50 seconds if the sound level drops.
Dim Mode
Dim mode helps save parent unit power. The display automatically dims after 10 minutes of inactivity, when no keys are pressed, or no alerts are received from the baby unit.
[10 minutes inactive] [press-any-button]
Night Vision
The baby unit has infrared LEDs that allow clear viewing in dark rooms. When low light levels are detected, the infrared LEDs switch on automatically. Images appear in black and white on the parent unit screen.
Notes:
- It is normal to see a short white glare on the parent unit screen when the baby unit adapts to the dark.
- Images are in black and white when the infrared LEDs are on.
Tip: Image quality may vary depending on surroundings and interfering factors like lighting or objects. Adjust the baby unit's angle or place it higher to prevent glare and blurred display.
Monitoring Modes (For VM5267-2 only)
These modes allow different ways to view multiple baby units:
- Single CAM mode: Displays images from a selected baby unit in full screen.
- Split mode: Displays images from all paired baby units simultaneously in a split view.
- Patrol mode: Displays a single camera view that transitions to a different baby unit every 10 seconds.
To switch between baby unit images in these modes, press the appropriate menu option.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Why does the baby monitor not respond normally? Try the following: 1. Disconnect power to all units. 2. Wait a few seconds. 3. Reconnect power and turn units on. 4. Wait up to one minute for synchronization.
- Why doesn't the baby unit and parent unit power-on light illuminate? Ensure the parent unit and baby unit are properly connected to their respective power adapters and wall sockets. Press and hold the POWER button on the parent unit.
- Why doesn't my parent unit charge while connected to AC power? Check if the power outlet is electronically controlled. The battery may be degraded or defective; refer to the warranty section for repair/replacement.
- Why is my screen in black and white? This is normal when night vision is activated in a dark room or at night.
- Why do I get glare or blurry display on my screen when viewing my baby at night? Adjust the baby unit's angle or placement to prevent glare and blurriness caused by lighting or surroundings.
- Why does the baby monitor produce a feedback noise? The parent and baby units may be too close. Move them further apart or lower the parent unit's volume.
- Why does the parent unit beep? Possible causes include: baby units out of range (move parent unit closer, but at least 3 feet away), low parent unit battery charge, or the room temperature is too high or too low.
- Why does the parent unit react too quickly to other sounds? Adjust the sound sensitivity level to a lower setting or lower the parent unit speaker volume.
- Why don't I hear a sound/Why can't I hear my baby cry? Increase the parent unit speaker volume using VOL + or adjust the sound sensitivity level to a higher setting.
- Why can't I establish a connection? Why is the connection lost? Why are there sound interruptions? The baby units may be out of range (move parent unit closer, but at least 3 feet away). Other electronic or wireless products may cause interference; place the monitor as far away from them as possible. If only one baby unit is powered on, the parent unit may display a connection status icon and the LINK LED may flash.
Mounting the Baby Unit (Optional)
You can mount the baby unit on a wall for optimal positioning.
You will need to purchase separately: 2 screws, 2 anchors.
- Use a pencil to mark two holes in parallel on the wall, ensuring they are the same distance apart as the wall mount holes on the baby unit.
- Drill two holes in the wall (use a 5.5 mm drill bit). If drilling into a stud, proceed to step 3. If drilling into other wall material, insert anchors into the holes and tap gently with a hammer until flush with the wall.
- Insert screws into the holes and tighten until only 6.5 mm of the screws are exposed.
- Align the wall mount holes on the baby unit with the screws on the wall. Slide the baby unit down until it locks into place.
Notes: The types of screws and anchors needed depend on the wall composition. Check reception strength and camera angle before drilling.
