Assembly
Cable Collector and Adjustable Tool Holder
To assemble the cable collector and adjustable tool holder:
- Insert the desoldering iron cable into the clip and then into the cable collector. Ensure the cable is not excessively long, allowing free movement within the work area.
- The cable collector is designed to be flexible, adapting to the movements during the soldering process.
- Adjust the tool holder angle to suit your preferred work position for optimal ergonomics.
- The integrated wiper offers various methods for cleaning cartridge tips. The included sponge can also be used for cleaning if desired.
Tip Cleaner
Select the appropriate cleaning method to suit your needs and improve the thermal transfer of the tip.
Brass Wool (Ref. CL6210)
This is a highly effective cleaning method that leaves a small layer of solder on the tip, preventing oxidation between cleaning and rewetting cycles. For very dirty tips, JBC recommends using the integrated wiper first to remove excess solder before using brass wool.
Wiper
The integrated wiper provides multiple ways to clean cartridge tips:
- Tapping: Tap gently to remove excess solder.
- Wiping: Use the slots to remove remaining particles.
- Sponge: This offers the softest cleaning method. Keep the sponge damp with distilled water during operation to prevent tip wear.
Tip Extractor
Ref. DS-SF
To extract a tip:
- Place the soldering iron with the assembled tip into the extractor groove.
- Pull the tool towards you to remove the tip.
- To insert a new tip, place it and press slightly to ensure it is correctly positioned.
- Unused tips can be stored in the designated openings within the extractor.
Ref. DR-SF
The spanner is used to unscrew and replace tips. When not in use, it can be stored inside the extractor. Unused tips can also be stored in the extractor openings.
Wiper and Brass Wool Replacement
The wiper and brass wool can be easily removed for cleaning or replacement when worn.
- To remove the wiper: Lift it at its front edge and pull it out.
- To replace the brass wool: Replace it with a new one when worn out.
- You can then place the wiper back or replace it if desired.

Maintenance
Before performing any maintenance or storage, always unplug the stand from the station and the tool.
- Clean the stand using a damp cloth. Alcohol may be used exclusively for cleaning metal parts.
- Periodically check that the metal parts of the tool/stand are clean to ensure the station can accurately check the tool's status.
- Regularly inspect all cables and tube connections for integrity.
- Replace any defective or damaged parts using only original JBC spare parts.
- All repairs must be carried out by a JBC authorized technical service.
Maintenance Note: Clean periodically. [Visual description: The image shows a close-up of the stand's tip cleaning area, with an arrow pointing to it and text 'Clean periodically'.]
Safety
⚠️ It is imperative to follow safety guidelines to prevent electric shock, injury, fire or explosion.
- Do not use the stand for any purpose other than soldering or rework.
- Ensure the power cord is plugged into approved bases and is properly grounded before use. When unplugging, hold the plug, not the wire.
- Place the tool in the stand when not in use to activate the sleep mode. Note that the soldering tip, the metal part of the tool, and the stand may remain hot even when the station is turned off. Handle with care, including when adjusting the stand position.
- Avoid contact of flux with skin or eyes to prevent irritation.
- Be cautious of fumes produced during soldering.
- Maintain a clean and tidy workplace. Wear appropriate protective glasses and gloves when working to prevent personal harm.
- Exercise extreme caution with liquid tin waste, as it can cause burns.
- This appliance may be used by children aged eight and above, and by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, provided they receive adequate supervision or instruction regarding its use and understand the associated hazards. Children must not play with the appliance.
- Maintenance must not be performed by children unless under supervision.
