General Information
The indoor unit features a 'calm air mode' which disperses air through thousands of micro-holes on the front of the unit to prevent cold air drafts on occupants during cooling mode.
It includes an integral condensate pump with a maximum 29" lift from the bottom of the unit, featuring a check valve and float switch to disable the unit in case of condensate overflow.
The fascia panel has a built-in Wi-Fi adapter for control and monitoring via the Samsung SmartThings app.
The outdoor unit supplies 208/230V power to the indoor unit via a 14 AWG x 3 interconnect power cable.
Construction
- Insulated, HIPS chassis and fascia panel certified to UL94 V0.
- Includes a knock-out for outside air capability (booster fan connection).
Refrigerant System
- Mechanically bonded aluminum fin to copper tube heat exchanger.
- Refrigerant flow controlled by an electronic expansion valve at the outdoor unit.
- R32 alarm output plug on indoor and outdoor units for R32 leak detection notification (VSTAT10P-1 accessory required).
Indoor Fan
- Three fan speed settings and auto settings.
- Washable filter included as standard.
- Fascia panel features an LED display, infrared receiver, and motorized louvers.
- 'Calm air mode' function closes the supply air outlet louver in cooling mode to gently disperse cool air without blowing directly onto occupants. This feature is optional and can be enabled via central or local control options.
Controls
- Control wiring: 2 x 16 AWG.
- Operated via wireless or wired remote control with DDC-type signal (purchased separately).
- Supports dual set temperature when connected to supported controllers.
External Heat Control
This functionality allows for configuration of fan operation during auxiliary heat, defrost, and emergency heat operations (VSTAT10P-1 accessory required).
Configuration settings include outside ambient external heat lockout, outside ambient compressor lockout, and time delay options (VSTAT10P-1 accessory required).
The 'Emergency heat' functionality enables the system to continue controlling the external heat source even when system errors prevent the heat pump from operating (VSTAT10P-1 accessory required).
Convenience
Emergency Temperature Output (ETO) function: When the indoor unit is in an error status or when room temperature exceeds a configurable level, the system outputs a signal to an external source (e.g., backup system, building management system, alert device like a status light, warning lamp, or buzzer).
