Controller Overview

The 8BitDo Zero 2 is a compact Bluetooth gamepad designed for versatile use across multiple platforms.

Key Buttons:

• D-pad
• Select button
• Start button
• Face Buttons (A, B, X, Y)
• Shoulder Buttons (L, R)

Powering On and Off

• Power On: Press and briefly hold the [Start] button.
• Power Off: Press and hold the [Start] button for 3 seconds.
• Force Power Off: Press and hold the [Start] button for 8 seconds.

Connectivity and Pairing

Nintendo Switch

1. Press [Y + Start] to turn on the controller. The blue LED blinks 4 times per cycle.
2. Press and hold the [Select] button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The blue LED blinks rapidly.
3. On your Switch, navigate to Controllers > Change Grip/Order. The blue LED will turn solid when connected.
4. The controller will automatically reconnect to your Switch when the [Start] button is pressed after successful pairing.
5. Shortcuts:
• Select + Dpad_Down = Switch HOME button
• Select + Start = Switch ZL + ZR buttons

Windows (X-input)

1. Press [X + Start] to turn on the controller. The blue LED blinks twice per cycle.
2. Press and hold the [Select] button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The blue LED blinks rapidly.
3. On your Windows device, go to Bluetooth settings, pair with [8BitDo Zero 2 gamepad]. The blue LED turns solid upon successful connection.
4. The controller will automatically reconnect to your Windows device when the [Start] button is pressed after successful pairing.
5. Shortcut: Select + Dpad_Down = HOME button

Android

1. Press [B + Start] to turn on the controller. The blue LED blinks once per cycle.
2. Press and hold the [Select] button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The blue LED blinks rapidly.
3. On your Android device, go to Bluetooth settings, pair with [8BitDo Zero 2 gamepad]. The blue LED turns solid upon successful connection.
4. The controller will automatically reconnect to your Android device when the [Start] button is pressed after successful pairing.

macOS

1. Press [A + Start] to turn on the controller. The blue LED blinks 3 times per cycle.
2. Press and hold the [Select] button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The blue LED blinks rapidly.
3. On your macOS device, go to Bluetooth settings, pair with [Wireless Controller]. The blue LED turns solid upon successful connection.
4. The controller will automatically reconnect to your macOS device when the [Start] button is pressed after successful pairing.

Keyboard Mode

1. Press [R + Start] to turn on the controller. The blue LED blinks 5 times per cycle.
2. Press and hold the [Select] button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The blue LED blinks rapidly.
3. On your device, go to Bluetooth settings, pair with [8BitDo Zero 2 gamepad]. The blue LED turns solid upon successful connection.
4. The controller will automatically reconnect to your device when the [Start] button is pressed after successful pairing.
5. Note: In keyboard mode, all button inputs will be output as English keyboard characters.

Battery Information

Status Indicators:

The Zero 2 features a built-in 180 mAh Li-ion battery, offering approximately 8 hours of playtime after a 1-2 hour charge via USB cable. Charging time and playtime may vary based on environmental factors.

Power Saving

• The controller enters sleep mode after 15 minutes of inactivity.
• Press the [Start] button to wake up the controller.
• The controller will automatically shut down if no connection is made within 1 minute of powering on, or after 15 minutes of inactivity following a connection.
