Solax Quick Installation Guide

X3 Series 8KW-15KW

Section I: Packing List

? Note: Please refer to the appropriate instruction manual for the usage of Pocket WIFI and Pocket LAN.

Section II: Inverter Installation

  1. Mark the position of four holes on the mounting surface.
  2. Drill holes using a 10mm drill bit. Ensure the torque is 25±2 kgf.cm and the depth is at least 60mm.
  3. Insert and tighten the expansion tubes into the drilled holes.
  4. Screw the expansion screws into the expansion tubes.
  5. Align the inverter with the installed bracket and secure it.

Section III: PV Connection

Tools required: Stripping pliers, Wire crimper (recommended model: H4TC0001, manufacturer: Amphenol).

Cable size: 12 AWG, trip length: 7.0mm.

  1. Prepare the positive DC cable: Use 12 AWG cable with a 7.0mm strip length. Crimp the positive DC pin contact onto the stripped wire using a wire crimper. Apply torque to the clamp contact: 1.2±0.1Nm.
  2. Prepare the negative DC cable: Use 12 AWG cable with a 7.0mm strip length. Crimp the negative DC pin contact onto the stripped wire using a wire crimper. Apply torque to the clamp contact: 1.2±0.1Nm.
  3. Connect the PV array: Align the male plug (positive) and female plug (negative) connectors. Tighten the nut on the connector to secure the connection.

? Note! The PV connection mode shown in this diagram is not allowed! ❌

Section IV: AC Connection

Cable size: 10 AWG.

  1. Prepare the AC cable: Use 10 AWG cable. Slide the cable nut and back shell onto the cable.
  2. Strip the cable to 12mm. Insert the stripped ends of the R, S, T, N, and PE wires into the corresponding holes in the male insert.
  3. Tighten each wire screw in the male insert. Use the accompanying inner hexagon spanner.
  4. Tighten the screw securing the back shell to the male insert.
  5. Tighten the screw securing the back shell to the cable nut. (Torque: 0.6±0.1Nm)
  6. Connect the AC connector: Align the groove of the male terminal with the convex of the female terminal. Tighten the bush in the male terminal to secure the connection.

WIFI Connection (Optional)

  1. Open the WiFi lid located on the bottom of the inverter.
  2. Plug the Solax Pocket WiFi device into the port labeled 'WiFi'.
  3. Tighten the four screws to secure the Pocket WiFi module.

? Note: Please refer to the appropriate instruction manual for the usage of Pocket WiFi.

Section V: Earth Connection and Overview

Secure the ground connection: Screw the ground screw into the designated terminal using the provided 4mm Allen wrench. Ensure torque is 1.5±0.2Nm.

Overview for connection:

  1. Turn on the external AC and DC connectors.
  2. Turn on the DC switch to the "ON" position.
  3. The inverter will start automatically when PV panels generate enough energy; the LED will be blue.

USB Connection (for upgrading)

  1. Prepare for upgrade: Ensure the DC switch is OFF and the AC power is disconnected from the grid. Unscrew the waterproof lid of the Upgrade port using a straight screwdriver.
  2. Insert U-disk: Insert a U-disk containing the upgrade package into the USB port on the bottom of the inverter.
  3. Initiate upgrade: Turn on the DC switch or connect the PV connector. The inverter's LCD screen will display the update interface.
  4. Confirm update: Press the 'OK' button to start the software update process.
  5. Complete upgrade: After the update finishes, turn off the DC switch or disconnect the PV connector. Remove the U-disk and screw the waterproof lid back onto the port.

? Important: Contact Solax service support for the correct update package. Extract it to your U-disk without modifying the file name, as incorrect files may render the inverter inoperable.

Current update status: ARM, DSP.
