Installation

Unpacking and levelling

Unpacking:

  1. Unpack the washer-dryer.
  2. Check for any damage during transport. If damaged, do not install and contact your retailer.
  3. Remove the four protective screws and rubber bushes from the rear of the appliance. These are essential for transport and must be kept for future use.
  4. Seal any gaps using the provided plastic plugs.
  5. Keep all parts for future moving. Packaging materials are not toys.

Levelling:

Install the washer-dryer on a flat, sturdy floor. Ensure it is stable and does not vibrate or move during operation. Adjust the feet to compensate for any unevenness, ensuring the angle of inclination does not exceed 2°.

Electric and water connections

Connecting the water inlet hose:

  1. Connect the supply pipe to the water mains using the supplied rubber gasket and filter. Ensure it is tightened securely. Connect to the cold water tap (marked C) or use the provided Y-connector for both hot and cold water taps. Before connecting, run water until it is clear.
  2. Connect the other end of the hose to the appliance's cold water inlet, located on the top right rear of the machine.
  3. Ensure the hose is not kinked.
  4. Water pressure must be within the values indicated in the Technical details table. If the hose is too short, contact a specialist or authorized serviceman. Ensure taps are open.

Connecting the drain hose

Connect the drain hose to a draining duct or wall drain between 65-100 cm from the floor. Ensure the end of the hose is not submerged in water. If connecting to an under-sink trap, remove any spigots or blanking caps.

Important notes on drain hose installation:

Electric connection

Before plugging in, ensure:

Your appliance is supplied with a 13 amp fused plug. For immediate use, plug it into a 13 amp socket.

WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED.

Replacing the fuse: Use a 13 amp ASTA approved fuse (BS 1362). Ensure the fuse cover is refitted. If lost, the plug must not be used until a replacement is obtained.

Removing the plug: If routing the cable through partitions, ensure either the plug is replaced by a fused 13A rewireable plug or the cable is wired directly into a 13A cable outlet controlled by a switch.

Disposing of the plug: Make the pins unusable before disposal.

Wire colours for alternative plug connection:

The first wash cycle

Before the first use, run a wash cycle with detergent and no laundry at 90°C without a pre-wash cycle.

Dry only

Set the PROGRAMME knob to a drying setting (7-8) and select the drying type using the DRYING knob.

Important: A spin cycle is performed during drying if a cotton programme and a dryness level (Cupboard, Hanger, Iron) are selected. For cotton loads under 1 Kg, use the drying programme for delicate fabrics.

Functions

To enable a function, press the corresponding button. The button illuminates when the function is active. Rapid flashing indicates the function cannot be selected for the current programme.

Function Effect Comments Enabled with programmes:
Stain removal Bleaching cycle designed to remove tough stains. Pour bleach into extra compartment 4. Incompatible with Easy Iron. Please remember to pour the bleach into extra compartment 4. 2, 3, 4, Rinse cycle.
Easy iron Reduces creasing, making fabrics easier to iron. Programmes 4, 5, 6 end with laundry soaked (Anti-crease). The Rinse cycle LED flashes. Press START/RESET to conclude or set to drain. Incompatible with Stain Removal. When this function is set, programmes 4, 5, 6 will end with the laundry left to soak (Anti-crease) and the Rinse cycle phase LED will flash. To conclude the cycle, press the START/RESET button; to run the draining cycle alone, set the knob to the relative symbol and press the START/RESET button. This function is incompatible with the STAIN REMOVAL function. 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, Rinse cycle.
Extra Rinse Increases the efficiency of the rinse. Recommended for full loads or large amounts of detergent. Recommended when the appliance has a full load or with large quantities of detergent. 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 12, 13, Rinse cycle.
1000-500 Reduces the spin speed. All programmes except for 6 and draining.

The machine has an intelligent built-in check for out-of-balance loads and may reduce the final spin speed.

Detergents and laundry

Detergent dispenser

Use the correct dose of detergent for optimal results. Too much detergent can cause build-up and pollution.

Compartment 1: Detergent for pre-wash (powder). Remove extra compartment 4 if using this.

Compartment 2: Detergent for the wash cycle (powder or liquid). Pour liquid detergent just before the wash cycle starts.

Compartment 3: Additives (fabric softeners, etc.). Do not exceed the maximum level indicated.

Extra compartment 4: Bleach. Do not use hand wash detergent as it may create too much foam.

Bleach cycle

Use traditional bleach for sturdy white fabrics and delicate bleach for coloured fabrics, synthetics, and wool.

To run the bleach cycle alone: pour bleach into extra compartment 4 and set the Rinse programme. To bleach during a wash cycle: pour bleach into extra compartment 4, add detergent and softener, select the programme, and enable the Stain removal option.

Using extra compartment 4 excludes the use of the pre-wash cycle.

Precautions and advice

General safety

Disposal

Saving energy and respecting the environment

Care and maintenance

Cutting off the water or electricity supply

Cleaning your appliance

Clean the exterior and rubber parts with a soft cloth soaked in lukewarm soapy water. Do not use solvents or abrasives.

Cleaning the detergent dispenser

Remove the dispenser by lifting and pulling it out. Wash under running water. Repeat frequently.

Caring for your appliance door and drum

Leave the appliance door ajar to prevent unpleasant odours.

Cleaning the pump

The washer-dryer has a self-cleaning pump. Small items like coins or buttons may fall into the pre-chamber protecting the pump.

To access the pre-chamber:

  1. Remove the cover panel on the lower front of the washer-dryer using a screwdriver.
  2. Unscrew the lid anti-clockwise. Some water may trickle out.
  3. Clean the interior thoroughly.
  4. Screw the lid back on.
  5. Reposition the panel, ensuring hooks are secure.

Checking the water inlet hose

Check the water inlet hose at least once a year. Replace immediately if cracked, as water pressure is high. Never use previously used hoses.
