Safety Instructions
Read this instruction manual carefully and keep it for future reference.
Only use this appliance:
- For applications described in these instructions.
- Under supervision.
- In private households and enclosed domestic environments at room temperature.
- For normal processing quantities and times for domestic use.
- Up to an altitude of max. 2000 m above sea level.
- For boiling water.
- With the supplied base.
This appliance may be used by children aged 8 or over and by people with reduced physical, sensory, or mental abilities, or inadequate experience/knowledge, provided they are supervised or instructed on safe use and understand the dangers.
- Do not let children play with the appliance.
- Children must not perform cleaning or user maintenance unless they are at least 8 years old and supervised.
- Keep children under 8 years away from the appliance and power cable.
- Keep packaging material and small parts away from children.
Electrical Safety:
- Connect and operate only according to the rating plate specifications.
- Connect to a properly installed, earthed socket with alternating current.
- Ensure the domestic electrical installation's protective conductor system is properly installed.
- Never operate a damaged appliance. If damaged, unplug immediately or switch off the fuse.
Preventing Material Damage:
- Repairs should only be carried out by trained specialist staff.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, Customer Service, or a similarly qualified person.
- Never immerse the appliance, base, or power cord in water or clean them in the dishwasher.
- Prevent liquids from spilling onto the appliance plug connection.
- Never use the appliance near water (bath, sink).
- Ventilate adequately.
- Never operate in a cupboard or on/near hot surfaces.
- Do not touch hot appliance parts; allow them to cool down first.
- Only hold the jug by the handle.
- Use with the lid closed and limescale filter in place.
- Never exceed maximum quantities.
- Use only for its intended purpose to avoid injuries.
- Clean surfaces that come into contact with food before each use.
- Only use with fresh, cold, non-carbonated water. Do not add milk or ready-made drinks.
- Do not operate empty or overfilled; observe the water level indicator.
- Leave the appliance to cool for at least 5 minutes after each use.
- Never remove limescale residues using hard or metal objects.
Appliance Overview
The appliance includes the following parts:
- 1. Base: Contains the power connection and controls.
- 2. Kettle: The main body for heating water.
- 3. Water level indicator: Shows the water level inside the kettle.
- 4. Handle: For safely lifting and pouring from the kettle.
- 5. Lid: Covers the kettle.
- 6. Lid-opening button: Used to open the lid.
- 7. Limescale filter, removable: Located inside the spout to prevent limescale from entering the cup.
- 8. Cord store: For winding and storing the power cord.
- 9. On/off button: Controls the appliance's power.
- 10. Temperature setting button: Allows selection of desired water temperature (e.g., 70°, 80°, 90°, 100°C).
- 11. Temperature display: Shows the current and set temperatures.
- 12. Keep-warm function button: Activates the function to maintain the set temperature.
Preparing the Appliance for First Use
- Remove all packaging material.
- Remove any stickers or protective film.
- Unwind the power cord to the required length.
- Insert the mains plug into a socket.
- Fill the kettle with fresh, cold water, add one tablespoon of vinegar, and bring to the boil.
- Repeat the process without adding vinegar.
- Rinse the kettle thoroughly.
Boiling Water
Notes:
- To end the heating process early, press the [power-symbol] (On/off button) again.
- If the kettle is lifted from the base and replaced, it will not resume heating; settings are reset.
- The set temperature flashes on the display, and the attained temperature lights up.
- The temperature can be changed during the heating process, but the new required temperature must be higher than the current water temperature.
Using the Keep Warm Function
The keep warm function automatically maintains the set temperature for 30 minutes after heating.
- Press the [keep-warm-button] to switch on the keep warm function. The indicator light for 'keep warm' will illuminate.
- The keep warm function automatically switches off after 30 minutes.
- To switch off the keep warm function early, press the [keep-warm-button] again. The 'keep warm' indicator light will go out.
Note: The keep warm function must be activated before the heating process automatically ends.
Descaling the Appliance
Regular descaling is recommended to prolong the appliance's life, ensure proper functioning, and save energy.
- When using a commercially available descaler, follow the manufacturer's instructions for use and safety.
- If using vinegar, add 2 tablespoons of vinegar to the water that has been boiled, instead of a descaling tablet.
- If you use the kettle daily, descale it at shorter intervals.
- After descaling, remove the limescale filter and place it in a little vinegar.

Troubleshooting
Appliance does not heat up and temperature display does not light up.
Cause: Overheating protection is active.
Solution: Leave the appliance to cool down for a long time before switching it on again.
Appliance switches off before the water has boiled.
Cause: Build-up of limescale in the appliance.
Solution: Descale the appliance.
Water Collects at the Base
Condensation may form at the base for physical reasons. This is normal and harmless.
Action: Pull out the mains plug and dry the base with a cloth.
Disposing of Old Appliance
Dispose of the appliance in an environmentally friendly manner. Information about current disposal methods is available from your specialist dealer or local authority.
