DigiTech Multi Chorus
Digital Multi Voice Chorus
Product Overview
DigiTech is a recognized leader in the guitar signal processing industry. The Multi Chorus pedal represents a significant advancement in chorus effect technology, powered by DigiTech's proprietary AudioDNA™ processor. It offers up to 16 independent voices of interactive chorusing, delivering a rich modulation sound comparable to high-end pedal and rack units.
Controls and Jacks
The DigiTech Multi Chorus features the following controls and connection points:
- 1. Level Knob ?️: Adjusts the output level of the effect. Clockwise increases level, counter-clockwise decreases it.
- 2. Speed Knob ?️: Controls the rate of chorus modulation. Clockwise increases speed, counter-clockwise decreases it.
- 3. AC Adapter Jack ?: For connecting a DigiTech PS200R power supply. Ensure the supply matches your local mains voltage.
- 4. Depth Knob ?️: Controls the depth of the chorus effect. Clockwise creates a thicker sound, counter-clockwise a shallower one.
- 5. Voice Knob ?️: Determines the number of chorus voices. Starts with a single voice and increases up to 16 voices as the knob is turned clockwise.
- 6. Input Jack ?: Connect your instrument (e.g., guitar) here. This jack also supplies power to the pedal when a battery is installed, even if the indicator LED is not lit. Disconnect cables when not in use to conserve battery life.
- 7. Pedal Release Pins: Spring-loaded pins used to release the pedal for battery access.
- 8. Pedal ?: Press to turn the effect on and off.
- 9. Out 1 (Mono) Jack ?: Connect to a single amplifier for mono output.
- 10. Indicator LED ?: Illuminates when the effect is active. A dim or unlit LED may indicate a low battery.
- 11. Out 2 Jack ?: Connect to a second amplifier for true stereo chorusing, providing the most immersive experience.
Connections and CIT™ Cabinet Modeling
The Multi Chorus has a single input and two outputs. Use 'Out 1' for mono operation with one amplifier, and 'Out 2' for stereo operation with two amplifiers.
The pedal includes built-in CIT™ cabinet modeling, useful for achieving an amp-like distortion sound when running directly into a mixer or recorder, especially when paired with a distortion pedal. CIT™ cabinet modeling is active only when the chorus effect is engaged.
To Enable CIT™ Cabinet Modeling: Press the pedal down and apply power by connecting a guitar cable to the input or the PS200R power supply to the AC adapter jack. CIT™ cabinet modeling must be re-enabled each time power is applied.
Connection Diagram Description: The diagram illustrates the pedal connected between an electric guitar and two amplifiers. The guitar connects to the 'IN' jack of the Multi Chorus. 'OUT 1 (MONO)' connects to the first amplifier, and 'OUT 2' connects to the second amplifier for stereo sound. An optional PS200R power supply can be connected to the AC adapter jack.
Battery Replacement
To replace the battery:
- Use the tip of a 1/4" guitar cable to push one of the pedal release pins on either side, then lift the pedal off the chassis.
- Remove the old battery from the compartment and disconnect its cable.
- Connect a new 9V battery to the cable and place it in the compartment, ensuring the cable does not obstruct the spring or pedal switch arm.
- Align one hole of the pedal with its corresponding pin on the chassis.
- Push the opposite pin in, lower the other side of the pedal into place, and release the pin. Ensure both release pins are flush with the outer side of the pedal for proper fastening.
Battery Compartment Diagram Description: The diagram shows the pedal assembly, highlighting the pedal, pedal switch arm, 9V DC battery, pedal release pins, battery compartment, and spring within the pedal chassis.
