WOOFER WIRING CONFIGURATIONS
Use the diagrams below to determine which amplifier is best compatible with your subwoofers, and to determine the best way to wire your subwoofers to your amplifier.
ONE 4 Ω SVC WOOFER
Wiring one SVC sub to an amp is the most basic type of wiring. The best option is to always match the exact impedance of the sub to the exact impedance the amp is stable at. For a SVC 4 -ohm sub, we recommend that you wire it to a 2 -ohm stable mono amp or you can use a 2-channel amp that is stable at 4 ohms when bridged.
Diagram Description: A diagram shows a single 4-ohm subwoofer. On the left, it is wired to a 2-ohm stable mono amplifier, with positive and negative terminals connected. On the right, it is wired to a 2-channel amplifier bridged at 4 ohms, with positive and negative terminals connected to the respective channels.
TWO 4 Ω SVC WOOFERS
The best way to wire two SVC 4 -ohm subs is to run them in parallel, bringing the load down to 2 ohm. You can use a mono amplifier that is stable at 1 ohm or 2 ohms without a problem.
Diagram Description: A diagram shows two 4-ohm subwoofers wired in parallel to a 1-ohm or 2-ohm stable mono amplifier. The positive terminals of both subwoofers are connected together and then to the positive terminal of the amplifier. The negative terminals of both subwoofers are connected together and then to the negative terminal of the amplifier.
