YOUR NEW WIRELESS GENIE® MINI IS HERE!
Here's how to connect and activate your Wireless Genie Mini so you can enjoy the best in video entertainment.
Getting Started
- ? 1 Connect: Connect your devices.

1 CONNECT YOUR WIRELESS GENIE® MINI
- Connect the HDMI cable from your TV to your new Genie Mini.
- Plug the power cord into the Genie Mini, then into a power outlet. If it doesn't automatically power up, press the POWER button.
- Turn on your TV. The "CONNECTING TO VIDEO BRIDGE" screen will appear.
Connection Diagram Description:

2 SETUP
Go to the Genie 2 Server.
- Press and release the ADD CLIENT button on top. It will start flashing GREEN.
Note: The ADD CLIENT button will time out in 20 minutes. If you need more time, press it again.
Go back to your new Wireless Genie Mini:
- You should see the "CONNECT TO VIDEO BRIDGE" screen.
- If the signal quality is good or excellent, select "CONNECT NOW"; otherwise, try moving the Client closer to the Genie® 2 Server or call Customer Care at 800.531.5000.
- Follow the guided setup instructions.
Note: The new Genie Mini may display a flashing red LED and the screen may flash gray intermittently during this setup step.
- Once the guided setup is complete, select "WATCH TV".
Connecting to Video Bridge Screen Description:
This screen displays the status of the connection to the Video Bridge. It shows the DIRECTV logo and the title "Connecting to Video Bridge". Key information includes "Video Bridge Survey Mode should be active before attempting to connect." Below this, it indicates "Video Bridge Survey Mode: Inactive", "Wireless Signal Strength: Waiting", and presents two actionable buttons: "Connect Now" and "Setup Instructions".
3 ACTIVATE YOUR REPLACEMENT GENIE MINI
Go to directv.com/activate and sign in, then follow the instructions, OR

4 PROGRAM YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
