XGODY N01 Android Tablet Quick Start Guide

This document provides essential information for setting up and using your XGODY N01 Android Tablet.

Getting Started

Charging the Tablet

To charge your tablet, use a 5V/2A charger. The charging port is typically located on the side or bottom of the device. A diagram shows a tablet connected to a power adapter via a USB-C cable.

Powering On and Initial Setup

To turn on your tablet, press and hold the power button. The device will boot into the Android operating system. You will be guided through an initial setup process, which may include language selection, Wi-Fi connection, and Google account setup.

The initial setup screens may display in different languages, such as German, as seen in sample interfaces showing options like 'Hallo', 'DEUTSCH (DEUTSCHLAND)', and 'STARTEN'.

Language Selection

During the setup, you will be prompted to select your preferred language. Options may include English, Spanish, and many others. You can change the device language later in the settings.

Wi-Fi Connection

Connect to a Wi-Fi network to access the internet and download apps. The setup screen will list available networks. You may also have an option to set up the tablet offline.

Google Services

You will be asked to sign in to your Google account or create a new one. This allows access to Google Play Store, Gmail, and other Google services. You can configure settings for location services, app usage data, and automatic updates.

Google Services Configuration:

  • Location: Choose whether to use location services for apps and services. Google may collect anonymized location data to improve accuracy.
  • App Updates: Agree to automatic updates for Google apps, carrier apps, and device manufacturer apps. Data charges may apply.
  • Usage Data: You can choose to send diagnostic and usage data to Google to help improve Android devices.

Screen Lock

For security, you can set up a screen lock, such as a PIN. The PIN must be at least 4 digits long. Options for screen lock settings are available.

Factory Reset

The tablet offers a factory reset option to erase all data and restore the device to its original settings. This is typically found within the system settings.

Changing Display Language and Input Method

  1. On your Android device, tap 'Settings'.
  2. Tap 'System' > 'Languages & input' > 'Languages'.
  3. Tap 'Add a language' and select your desired language.
  4. Drag your chosen language to the top of the list to set it as the primary display language.

Maintenance and Safety

  • Keep the device and charger dry. Avoid contact with water or steam. Do not use the device or charger with wet hands to prevent short circuits and corrosion.
  • Do not expose the device, battery, or charger to strong shocks or vibrations. This can cause malfunction, fire, or explosion.
  • Do not place the device, battery, or charger in areas with excessively high or low temperatures, as this could lead to malfunction, fire, or explosion.
  • Do not strike, throw, pierce, drop, crush, or bend the device.
  • Only use authorized accessories. Unauthorized accessories may not be covered by the company's warranty.
  • Hearing Safety: Be aware of high acoustic pressure and the risk of hearing damage. Avoid listening at high volumes for extended periods. ⚠️

Hardware and Connectivity

MicroSD Card Installation

To install a microSD card:

  1. Place the microSD card with the metal contacts facing up and the tablet screen facing up. Align the card with the slot and gently insert it from left to right to secure it.
  2. Gently press and hold the edge of the microSD card with your fingernail to eject it.
  3. Once ejected, remove the microSD card by its edge.

PC Connection (USB)

Use the provided USB cable to connect your tablet to a PC. A USB connection window will appear. Select 'Activate USB storage' or 'Transfer files' to establish the connection and transfer data.

The USB settings screen may show options like 'Dateiübertragung' (File transfer).

iWawa App and Parental Controls

The tablet may feature the iWawa app, designed for children's use. To access the main interface, tap 'iWawa Home'.

Parental Control Login:

  • To exit the child mode or access parental settings, a password is required. The default password is '0000'.
  • The screen shows a numeric keypad for entering the password.

Child Desktop ('Kinder - Bureau'):

The child desktop provides access to various educational and entertainment apps, categorized for children. Icons may include 'Montessori', 'ABC', 'STEM', 'Kinder-TV', 'Kamera' (Camera), and 'Bilder' (Pictures).

Troubleshooting

Q1. The tablet does not turn on.

  • Restart the tablet after charging for 30 minutes.
  • Press the power button to check if the tablet is in sleep mode.
  • Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to turn off the tablet, then restart it.
  • Use a paperclip or thin pin to press the reset button to restart the tablet.

Q2. The tablet does not charge.

  • Ensure the USB cable is correctly plugged into the charging port.
  • Try using a different compatible USB cable and adapter.

Q3. An error message appears during use.

  • Uninstall the application showing the error message, then re-download and reinstall it.
  • Use a paperclip or thin pin to press the reset button to restart the tablet.

Q4. The tablet cannot be detected by the computer.

  • Ensure the tablet is powered on.
  • Try using a different USB cable.
  • Try using a different USB port on your computer.
  • Instead of 'Charge this device', select 'Transfer files' or 'Transfer photos (PTP)' when connecting your tablet to your computer.

Q5. The tablet cannot connect to Wi-Fi.

  • Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on your tablet.
  • Make sure you are entering the correct password for the Wi-Fi connection.
  • Restart your router.
  • Ensure no connection filters or restrictions are set in your router's settings.
  • Forget the current Wi-Fi network, reset the router, and reconnect to Wi-Fi.

Q6. The tablet's storage space is insufficient.

  • Delete unused applications.
  • Regularly clear the application cache.
  • Install a microSD card to increase storage space.
