7.1 AC Charging
Plug the AC50B into a standard wall outlet. It automatically stops charging when fully charged to prevent overcharging. Enable Turbo Charging via the BLUETTI app for an 80% charge in 45 minutes at 25°C (77°F).
7.2 Solar Charging
Connect solar panels (series or parallel) using the solar charging cable. With a continuous 200W input, the AC50B charges fully in about 3 hours. Charging time may vary based on weather, sunlight intensity, and panel orientation.
Note: Ensure solar panels meet these requirements: Voc: 12V-28V, Current: 8.5A Max., Power: 200W Max.
7.3 Car Charging
Connect the AC50B to a vehicle's 12V/24V cigarette lighter port using the car charging cable. Charging takes approximately 5-7 hours via a 12V port and 3-4 hours via a 24V port at 25°C (77°F).
Note: Ensure the vehicle can supply power and the engine is running during charging.
7.4 Generator Charging
Connect the AC50B to a generator via the AC charging cable. With a stable generator output, a full charge takes approximately 1.2 hours at 25°C (77°F).
Note:
- Ensure your generator has pure sine wave AC output meeting AC50B's voltage and frequency specifications.
- If connected devices' total power demand exceeds the generator's capacity, enable Grid Self-adaption Mode for stable charging.
- Avoid unreliable power sources like wind turbines for stable charging.

Appendix 1: Estimating Operation Time
To estimate operation time, consider the load:
- For high-power loads (above 300W):
Operation time = Battery Capacity (Wh) × DoD × η ÷ Load Power - For small-power loads (below 300W):
Operation time = Battery Capacity (Wh) × DoD × η ÷ (Load Power + AC50B Self-consumption)
Note:
- DoD (Depth of Discharge): AC50B operates at 90% DoD for longer battery life.
- η (Efficiency): Inverter conversion efficiency is typically over 85% for AC50B.
- AC50B self-consumption is approximately 10W.
Example: A 40W refrigerator can run for approximately 6.8 hours.
Operation time = 448Wh × 90% × 85% ÷ (40W + 10W) ≈ 6.8 hours.
Estimated operation times are for reference and may vary based on usage conditions, temperature, and load.
Appendix 2: FAQs
- Q1: How do I know whether my devices will work well with this product?
- Evaluate the total constant load of your devices. If it does not exceed the AC50B's Max. output power (700W), you can use it. Note: Devices with motors or compressors may have a higher starting power (2-4 times the rated power) which could overload the AC50B.
- Q2: Can I use third-party solar panels to charge this product?
- Yes, provided your solar panels have an open circuit voltage of 12V-28V and MC4 connectors. Do not mix different types of solar panels.
- Q3: Can it charge and discharge at the same time?
- Yes, it supports pass-through charging. The AC50B uses a premium LiFePO4 battery and proprietary Battery Management System.
- Q4: What is ECO Mode and can I turn it off?
- ECO Mode is a power-saving mode that automatically turns off AC/DC output if the AC50B has low (default 10W AC, 5W DC) or no load for a period. Thresholds can be adjusted via the app. Disable ECO Mode for small power devices for uninterrupted charging.
- Q5: Why is the charging power often too low?
- The AC50B's intelligent BMS automatically adjusts charging power based on battery temperature and SoC to protect the battery and extend its service life.
Appendix 3: Grounding Guidelines
Use the grounding terminal only when connecting to the home grid via a 2-pin cable, or if the wall outlet's grounding is ineffective and the connected device has a metal case.
Use a cable with OT terminals for grounding. Connect one end to the grounding terminal with a grounding screw and the other end to the wall outlet or home distribution box ground.
The grounding terminal is unnecessary in the following scenarios:
- When connecting the AC50B to the wall outlet with a 3-pin cable (already effectively grounded).
- When the AC50B is not connected to the grid (touching its case will not cause electric shock).
