Safety Warnings
WARNING: ELECTRICAL SHOCK CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY.
- Read and follow all instructions exactly. If instructions are unclear, do not proceed. Consult a qualified electrician.
- Proper wiring is essential for safe operation.
- When cutting or drilling into walls or ceilings, do not damage electrical wiring, gas lines, or water lines.
- If any fixture or wiring components are damaged, do not install. Return to place of purchase.
Wire Temperature Warning: For fixtures with 75°C or 90°C supply wire warnings (found on U.L. label and carton): Risk of fire. Dwellings built before 1985 may have 60°C supply wires. Consult a qualified electrician before installing.
Grounded Outlet Note: This fixture employs a grounded type receptacle and is not intended for connection to a two-wire ungrounded source.
For Portable Lamps Only: To reduce the risk of electrical shock, portable lamps have a polarized plug (one blade is wider). This plug fits a polarized outlet only one way. If it does not fit, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use with an extension cord unless the plug can be fully inserted. Do not alter the plug.

Mounting and Wiring Instructions
NOTE: Underwriters Laboratories (UL) does not require all fixtures to have ground wires; these fixtures meet all UL specifications.
- Peel protective coating from face plate (A) (if applicable).
- Position the flat side of the mounting plate (C) against the wall at the mounting location. Mark the outer holes (O) with a pencil. Ensure the mounting plate (C) is level for the fixture to hang straight.
- Drill a 1/8 inch hole at each pencil mark and gently tap wall anchors (E) into the holes with a hammer. For added support, anchors and screws can also be mounted in additional support holes (F).
- Thread outlet box wires through the center opening of the mounting plate (C).
- Position the mounting plate (C) with outer holes (O) over the wall anchors (E). Secure with screws (K) or attach the mounting plate (C) to the outlet box (J) using outlet box screws (not included).
- Identify the color coding of the fixture wires (refer to Figure 2).
- To connect wires: Take the black fixture wire (Group A) and place it evenly against the black outlet box wire. Do not twist wires together.
- Fit a wire connector (G) over the wires and twist until a firm connection is felt. If the connector easily comes off, reattach and check again.
- Repeat steps 7 and 8 for the white fixture wires (Group B) and the outlet box wires.
- Partially thread the green grounding screw (H) into the side hole (I) on the mounting plate (C).
- Wrap the fixture's ground wire around the green grounding screw (H), leaving enough excess wire to connect it to the outlet box ground wire with a wire connector (if applicable).
- Tuck all wires neatly inside the outlet box (J).
Fixture Assembly Instructions
Warning: This fixture is for indoor use only.
- Replace the face plate (A) over the mounting plate (C) and secure it with retaining screws (B) or cap nuts (B1).

Cleaning and Care
To clean, wipe the fixture with a soft cloth. Clean glass with mild soap. Avoid chemical cleaners as they can discolor the finish.
Extend-A-Finish Lacquer Conditioner (Item #70295) is recommended annually for cleaning, conditioning, and protecting the fixture.
Do not use scouring pads, powders, steel wool, or abrasive paper.
For Solid Brass Fixtures: The durable acrylic lacquer coating provides weather protection. Over time, brass may develop an authentic antique finish. To maintain a bright finish, apply a good quality, non-abrasive car wax to all metal surfaces annually.

Keep this manual for future reference and for ordering replacement parts. Available parts can be ordered from the place of purchase. Use the exact wording from the diagrams when ordering.
