Installation Instructions

Safety Precautions

For your and others' safety, please read the precautions carefully before installation:

1. Product should be installed by a qualified electrician.
2. Switch off the power supply before commencing work. Ensure correct connection before powering on.
3. Do not apply an uncertified LED driver with the product.
4. NOT FOR EMERGENCY LIGHTING.

Wiring Instructions - Electronic Ballast

These instructions describe the retrofit wiring for LED lamps, bypassing the original electronic ballast.

Retrofit luminaire with 1 lamp

Original setup: AC 120-277V power connected to an electronic ballast, which powers a T8U6 Fluorescent LAMP. Retrofit setup: AC 120-277V power (Line and Neutral) is directly connected to the TRUE LED LAMP, bypassing the electronic ballast.

Retrofit luminaire with 2 lamps

Original setup: AC 120-277V power connected to an electronic ballast, which powers two T8U6 Fluorescent LAMPS. Retrofit setup: AC 120-277V power (Line and Neutral) is directly connected to two TRUE LED LAMPS, bypassing the electronic ballast.

Retrofit luminaire with 4 lamps

Original setup: AC 120-277V power connected to electronic ballasts, which power four T8U6 Fluorescent LAMPS. Retrofit setup: AC 120-277V power (Line and Neutral) is directly connected to four TRUE LED LAMPS, bypassing the ballasts.

Dimming Function

This tube can achieve 0-10V dimming when installed in combination with the Westinghouse Lighting dimming module model 502606930. One dimming module can only operate one LED tube.

Wiring for Dimming Module:

• AC INPUT 120~277V (L, N)
• Dimming Module outputs:
  • RED: TYPE B LAMP
  • BLACK
  • PURPLE
  • GREY: 0~10V Dimmer

Warnings and Important Notes

⚠️ WARNING:

• Only use the control provided with or specified by these instructions. This lamp will not operate properly with standard (incandescent) dimmers or dimming controls.
• Only operate with the specific dimming module 502606930 manufactured by Westinghouse.
• Type B LAMP is intended for operation in luminaires with traditional fluorescent-type lamp holders wired directly to the branch circuit. This includes factory-wired luminaries and those converted under a retrofit program.
• Risk of fire or electric shock. Installation requires knowledge of electrical systems. If not qualified, do not attempt installation and contact a qualified electrician.
• Install this kit only in luminaires with matching construction features and dimensions, and where the input rating of the retrofit kit does not exceed the luminaire's input rating.
• Do not make or alter any open holes in the enclosure of wiring or electrical components during installation.
• To prevent damage to wiring, do not expose wires to the edges of sheet metal or other sharp objects.
• Avoid fire or shock hazard: Do not use this retrofit kit in luminaires employing shunted bi-pin lampholders (typically found in fluorescent luminaires with Instant-Start ballasts, identified by "Instant Start" or "I.S." markings).
• Installers should cut existing lampholder leads away from the ballast and make new electrical connections using applicable connectors, rather than disconnecting existing wires from terminals.
• Luminaire wiring and electrical parts may be damaged when drilling for installation. Check enclosed wiring and components.

The retrofit assembly is accepted as a component of a luminaire; suitability of the combination shall be determined by UL or authorities having jurisdiction.

Specifications and Compliance

The units are intended to retrofit surface mount (no diffuser), Type IC or non-IC recessed mount Listed fluorescent luminaires that use a maximum of three tubular lamps.

This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
