Step 1: Shaft Setup
Assemble the shaft sections according to the desired length. The detector can be adjusted for adult or junior users.
For adult: Connect the shaft sections to achieve the desired length, ensuring a secure fit.
For junior: Connect the shaft sections to achieve a shorter length, suitable for younger users.
Step 2: Handle & Armrest
Attach the control box to the handle. Then, attach the armrest to the main shaft for comfortable use.
Step 3: Coil Routing
Wrap the coil cable around the shaft, starting from the lower part. Ensure the cable follows the spiral direction and leaves enough slack at the tilting part to allow for folding. Connect the coil cable to the control box by matching the connector and tightening the ring.
Quick Start Operation
- Power On/Off: Press the power button once to turn on the X1. Hold the button to turn it off.
- Sensitivity Adjustment: Use the up/down arrow buttons to increase or decrease sensitivity.
- Detection Mode: Press the menu button to cycle through different detection modes.
- Pinpointing: Hold the pinpoint button and sweep the target to locate it precisely.
- Ground Balance: Hold the coil above the ground and pump it to perform a ground balance.

Understanding Your Quest X1
Target ID & Indication Segments
The Quest X1 categorizes metal signals into digits from 1 to 9 based on conductivity. Higher conductivity results in a higher digit on the display. Indication bars help visualize the metal's category. For example, a US quarter or silver coin might be indicated as '8' with the fifth bar. Factors like soil condition and nearby metal trash can affect detection and processing, influencing the indicated depth of the target.
Tones
The X1 uses high, middle, and low tones corresponding to the Target ID, allowing for quick identification. Experienced users often rely on these tones for decision-making.
Programs
- Coin Mode: Stable, medium recovery speed, suitable for coins (TID range 4-9).
- Jewelry Mode: Highly sensitive, fast recovery speed, ideal for gold rings and jewelry (TID range 2-9).
- All Metal Mode: Fast recovery speed with zero discrimination, excellent for gold prospecting (TID range 0-9).
Ground Balance
Different soil conditions have varying mineralization. Ground balancing helps eliminate or reduce background noise from the ground, allowing for better focus on the target.
Detecting Techniques
- Swing: Swing the coil approximately 4 cm above the ground. Overlap each swing to avoid missing any targets.
- Xing: When a strong, clear tone is heard, press and hold the pinpoint button to precisely locate the target.
- Pinpointing: Use a pointer (Xpointer) to quickly find the target. Use the tip of the pointer to "sniff" the target area, even when covered by dirt.
- Digging: Use a digger to excavate the soil. Aim to keep the dug area as small as possible. Remember to cover the hole after retrieving the target.
Headphones & Recharge
- Ports: Remove the moisture and dust cover to access the ports. Replace the cover to protect against liquid or dirt.
- Headphones: The Quest X1 is compatible with headphones and earphones featuring a 3.5mm diameter connector. Set the audio volume to a low level before wearing headphones to prevent hearing damage.
- Recharging: Connect the USB Type-C cable to a USB port on a wall charger. The battery indicator will stop flashing once fully charged. Allow approximately 4 hours for a full charge.
Products Care
- NOTICE: Avoid twisting the coil tail and connector to prevent wire damage.
- NOTICE: Do not store the device in extreme temperatures to prevent damage.
- NOTICE: Do not use sharp objects on the touchpad.
- NOTICE: Avoid chemical cleaners, solvents, and insect repellents that can damage plastic components.
- NOTICE: Ensure the weather cap is securely fastened to protect the USB port.
- NOTICE: Sweat or moisture can cause corrosion on electrical contacts when connected to a charger.
Cleaning the Detector
- Wipe the device with a cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution.
- Wipe dry and allow the device to air dry completely.
- Use a soft, clean, lint-free cloth. Dampen lightly with water if necessary.
- If using a damp cloth, turn off the device and disconnect it from power before cleaning.
