Getting Started
1. What's in the box
- Scanner unit
- Cables and power adapter
- CD-ROM
- Power cord
- Document
The box contains the main scanner unit, various cables and a power adapter, a CD-ROM with software, a power cord, and a document.
2. Install the scanner
Diagrams illustrate the physical installation process: tilting the scanner unit back, inserting components into designated slots, and placing the scanner on a flat surface.
3. Connect to Power
A diagram shows the power adapter being connected to the scanner and then plugged into a power outlet. The power button indicator is shown illuminated [power-symbol].
4. Install Software
Install the scanner driver and the Button Manager V2/VSL software. The screen displays options for installation: 'Install Scanner Driver' ▶️, 'Install Button Manager V2' ▶️, 'Install Virtual Scanner Link' ▶️, and 'View Manuals' ▶️.
5. Connect to Computer
Two connection methods are shown: a USB connection to the computer and an Ethernet connection to the network.
6. Open VSL (Virtual Scanner Link) Software
Launch the Virtual Scanner Link (VSL) software on your computer. The software interface is displayed, showing a 'Connect' button to establish a connection with the scanner.
7. Start a Scan
The process of starting a scan is illustrated: a document is placed on the scanner's input tray, the scanner performs the scan, and the scanned image is shown on a computer screen.
8. Clear a PaperJam
If a paper jam occurs, follow the instructions to safely remove the jammed paper from the scanner. A diagram depicts a paper jam scenario within the scanner.
