Installation Instructions
Diagram Reference: The installation involves fitting the towbar assembly (A) to the vehicle chassis using various brackets (B, C, D) and fasteners. An extension housing (G) with a tow ball (J) is attached to the main crossmember (A). A specific cut is required on the vehicle's rear bumper, approximately 45mm x 45mm, indicated by a centre line.
- Lower the spare wheel.
- Cut a section centrally from the lower edge of the bumper. If required, trim to suit.
- Temporarily remove all fixings from the lower edge of the bumper. Note: Bend the central bumper tag out of the way to gain access for the towbar.
- Remove the rearmost exhaust rubber. Note: It is advisable to support the exhaust during this process to prevent damage.
- Using L with S, loosely bolt B through the central hole only to the existing threaded hole in the lower face of the right-hand chassis member.
- Using L with S, loosely bolt C through existing threaded holes in the side face of the chassis and through B into existing threaded holes in the lower face of the chassis.
- Carefully locate A into the rear bumper and using L with S, loosely bolt through the central hole only to the existing threaded hole in the lower face of the left-hand chassis member.
- Using N with R, loosely bolt A with J to B.
- Using L with S, loosely bolt D through existing threaded holes in the side face of the chassis and through A into the existing threaded holes in the lower face of the chassis.
- Fully tighten all nuts and bolts and ensure the towbar is rigid and secure.
- Using M with P and K with P, bolt G to A.
- Fully tighten M and K securing the extension housing.
- Refit exhaust rubber.
- Replace spare wheel.
- Replace fixings in the lower edge of the bumper.
