Safety Instructions

BATTERY WARNING: KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.

This product contains no user serviceable parts. Only a qualified electrician should attempt repairs.

If any part of the appliance is malfunctioning or if it has been dropped or damaged, cease using the product immediately to avoid potential injury.

Do not place, store or use the product near direct sunlight or direct heat sources or in a damp/high humidity environment.

This product is a high precision device; handle it with care.

This product is intended for domestic use only.

Battery Safety

This product is supplied with 3 x 1.5 V AAA batteries. Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as those recommended should be used with this product.

Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.

Exhausted batteries should be removed from the product to avoid leakage.

Care and Maintenance

Wipe the exterior of the scale with a soft, damp cloth and allow it to dry thoroughly.

This kitchen scale is waterproof to IPX7* and can be washed by hand. The scale is not dishwasher safe.

Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning detergents or scourers to clean the scale, as this could cause damage.

*Products with an IPX7 rating are waterproof for up to a depth of 1 metre for a duration of no longer than 30 minutes.

Before First Use

Loosen the battery safety screws and open the battery compartment on the underside of the scale. Remove the plastic isolator tab from the battery compartment (if present) prior to use. Check that the battery is inserted following the correct polarity. Close the battery compartment and tighten the battery compartment screws. Position the scale on a firm flat surface.

Switching On the Electronic Kitchen Scale

To switch on the scale, press 'TARE'. Wait until display shows '0'.

Converting Weight Units

Press 'UNIT' to change between g, oz, ml and fl. oz. The ml and fl. oz measures are suitable for all water-based liquids, e.g. wine, stock and milk.

Using the Add and Weigh Feature

To weigh several different ingredients in one bowl, press 'TARE' to reset the display between each ingredient.

Switching Off the Electronic Kitchen Scale

To switch off the scale manually, press 'TARE' for 2-3 seconds. Auto switch off will occur if display shows '0' for 1 minute or the same weight reading for 3 minutes.

Warning Indicators

• I or Lo: Low power. Replace the batteries.
• O-Ld: Max. weight capacity exceeded. Remove some weight from the scale.
• ----: Negative load. Press 'TARE' to return to '0'.
