Note: Yealink recommends using the included accessories. Other accessories may have compatibility issues that prevent proper operation.

2 Power on/off and Pairing

Powering On/Off:

  • Hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn the headset on or off.

LED Indicators:

  • Green solid (3 seconds): Powering on.
  • Red solid (3 seconds): Powering off.
  • Red and green alternating: Pairing mode.

Pairing Mode:

  • Hold the power button for 5 seconds (in power off state) to enter pairing mode.
  • Hold the power button for 3 seconds (in idle state) to enter pairing mode.

Connecting to a Device:

When the headset is in pairing mode, turn on the Bluetooth feature on your device and select "Yealink BH72" from the device list to connect.

Note: If your desk phone or PC does not have built-in Bluetooth, you will need to use the BT dongle.

3 Call Control

The headset features controls for managing calls:

  • Mute/Unmute Microphone: Located on the boom arm.
  • Microphone: The boom arm houses the microphone.
  • Power on/off: Button for power management.
  • Status Indicator: LED light indicating device status.
  • Volume up: Press the '+' button.
  • Volume down: Press the '-' button.

Call Actions:

  • Press: Answer or end a call.
  • Double press: Reject an incoming call.

Busylight Indicators:

  • Flashing red: Receiving an incoming call.
  • Solid red: Currently in a call.
  • Flashing purple: Attempting to connect with Microsoft Teams (for Teams Edition).
  • Solid purple: Connected to Microsoft Teams (for Teams Edition).

Visual descriptions of actions:

  • Diagram showing the microphone boom in the down position for muting.
  • Diagram showing the microphone boom in the up position or button press for unmuting/answering.

4 Music Control

Control your music playback with these functions:

  • Play or Pause Music: Press the designated button.
  • Next Track: Press the 'next track' button.
  • Previous Track: Press the 'prev. track' button.
  • Volume Up: Hold the volume up button for 1.5 seconds.
  • Volume Down: Hold the volume down button for 1.5 seconds.
  • Query Status: Press the designated button to query the remaining talk time and Bluetooth connection status.

5 Customer Key

This key provides quick access to specific functions:

  • Press: Open Microsoft Teams (only for Teams edition).
  • Hold (2 seconds): Open voice assistant.

6 Charging

The Yealink BH72 can be charged using two methods:

  • USB Charging: Connect the included USB 2.0 cable to the headset and a power source.
  • Wireless Charging (Optional): Place the headset on the BHC76 Wireless Charging Stand.

Wireless Charging Note: Please align the charging indicator symbol (e.g., a lightning bolt icon) on the headset with the corresponding symbol on the wireless charging stand for optimal charging.

Charging Status Indicator:

  • Solid red light: The headset is charging.
  • Solid green light: The headset is fully charged.

7 Replace Ear Cushions

Follow these steps to replace the ear cushions:

  • Diagram: Gently pry off the old ear cushion from the ear cup.
  • Diagram: Remove the old ear cushion completely.
  • Diagram: Align the new ear cushion with the ear cup.
  • Diagram: Press the new ear cushion firmly into place until it clicks or is securely attached.

8 How to Find Label

Product labels, including model and serial numbers, can typically be found on the headset band or inside the ear cups. Refer to the diagrams for specific locations.

  • Diagram: Shows the headset being turned, indicating a label location on the inner band.
  • Diagram: Shows a close-up of an ear cup with a label visible on the inside.

Software Management

Manage your Yealink BH72 headset through software:

Yealink USB Connect (PC)

This software allows for device management, firmware updates, and more on your computer.

Notes for BHC76 (Optional Wireless Charging Stand)

  1. Use the provided power adapter for the most efficient charging experience.
  2. Do not place metal debris or magnetic cards on the charging board to avoid abnormalities or damage.
  3. Ensure the headset is placed close to the charging coil on the stand.
  4. If the charging indicator light flashes continuously, it may indicate overheating. Remove the headset, allow it to cool down, and try charging again.
  5. If the indicator light keeps flashing, check the following:
    • Ensure the headset is properly placed on the charging stand. Re-position if necessary until the indicator light is solid.
    • The product has an overheating alarm. Allow the headset or charging object to cool down before resuming charging.
    • Remove any metal debris or magnetic cards from the charging board.
  6. After the device is fully charged, the charging stand's indicator light may flicker for about 15 seconds. Confirm full charge status on the device itself.

Safety Guide for BHC76 (Optional Wireless Charging Stand)

  1. Do not disassemble or dispose of the product in fire or water to avoid short circuits, leakage, or damage.
  2. Avoid using the product in high temperature, humidity, or corrosive environments to prevent damage and charging failures.
  3. Do not expose the product to corrosive liquids, as this can cause severe damage.
  4. Do not disassemble or modify the product for any reason to prevent secondary failures or burnout.
  5. Do not place the product in temperatures below -10°C or above 60°C.
  6. Avoid strong impacts, dropping, or vibration, as rough handling can damage the internal circuit board structure.

Safety Instructions

General Requirements

Environmental Requirements

  • Place the device in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep the device dry and free of dust.
  • Do not place the device near flammable objects or heat sources (e.g., rubber materials, bare fire, electric heaters).

Operating Requirements

  • Supervise children when they operate or play with the device.
  • Use only manufacturer-provided or authorized accessories.
  • Ensure the power supply meets the device's input voltage requirements. Use the provided surge protection power socket.
  • Ensure hands are dry before plugging/unplugging cables.
  • Avoid spilling liquids on the product or using it near water (bathtubs, sinks, pools).
  • During thunderstorms, stop using the device and disconnect it from power to avoid lightning strikes.
  • Disconnect the device from power if left unused for extended periods.
  • If smoke, abnormal noise, or smell is detected, disconnect power immediately and contact maintenance.
  • Do not insert foreign objects into device slots.
  • Connect the grounding cable first before other cables when connecting.

Battery Requirements

  • Do not immerse the battery in water.
  • Do not expose the battery to open flames or extreme heat, which could cause explosion.
  • Power off the handset before removing the battery.
  • Use the battery only for this handset.
  • Do not open or mutilate the battery.
  • Use only rechargeable battery packs provided or recommended by Yealink.
  • Dispose of defective batteries properly; return old batteries to suppliers or designated collection facilities.

Troubleshooting

The unit cannot supply power to Yealink device.

  • Check for a bad connection with the plug. Clean the plug with a dry cloth. Try another wall outlet.
  • Ensure the usage environment is within the operating temperature range.
  • Verify the cable between the unit and the Yealink device is connected correctly.

You cannot connect the cable properly.

  • Ensure you have connected the correct Yealink device.
  • Use the correct power supply.
  • Check for dust or debris in the port and clean if necessary.
