1 General Information
1.1 Profile
Please read this pamphlet carefully to ensure your tablet remains in perfect condition. Our company may change this tablet without prior written notice and reserves the final right to interpret its performance. Due to different software and network operators, the display on your tablet may vary; refer to your tablet for specific details.
1.2 Safety Warnings and Attentions
Road Safety Comes First: Do not use a hand-held tablet while driving. Use hands-free fittings when calls are unavoidable. Dialing or receiving calls while driving may be illegal in some countries.
Switch Off in Aircraft: Wireless devices can cause interference in aircraft. Using a tablet in flight is illegal and risky. Ensure your tablet is powered off during flights.
Switch Off Before Entering Risky Areas: Strictly observe relevant laws, codes, and regulations for tablet use in risky areas. Turn off your tablet before entering places susceptible to explosion, such as gas stations, oil tanks, chemical plants, or areas where blasting processes are underway.
Observe All Special Regulations: Follow any special regulations in force in areas like hospitals. Always switch off your tablet when its use is forbidden or when it may cause interference or danger. Use your tablet properly near medical apparatuses, such as pacemakers, hearing aids, and other electronic medical devices, as it may cause interference.
Interference: The conversation quality of any tablet may be affected by radio interference. An antenna is built inside the tablet, located below the micro tablet. Do not touch the antenna area during a conversation, as this may deteriorate conversation quality.
Qualified Service: Only qualified personnel may install or repair tablet equipment. Attempting to install or repair the tablet yourself may pose a great danger and violates warranty rules.
Accessories and Batteries: Use only approved accessories and batteries.
Use Sensibly: Use only in a normal and proper manner.
2 Your Tablet
2.1 Tablet Overview
Description: The SKY DEVICES Elite Octa tablet features a touchscreen interface. The device has a power key and volume keys located on the side. It connects to networks via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and can be connected to a computer via USB for file transfer.

2.2 Functions of Keys
The tablet has the following keys:
- Power key: Located on the right side. Press to lock the screen. Press and hold to access tablet options (power off, reboot, screenshot).
- Volume key: Located on the right side. Press to adjust ringer volume.
2.3 Functions of Icons
- Menu icon: Touch to access options for a selected function.
- Home icon: Touch to open the home screen. If viewing extended home screens, touch to return to the main home screen.
- Back icon: Touch to return to the previous screen.
3 Getting Started
3.1 Charging the Battery
Your tablet monitors and displays battery state. The battery level icon is usually in the upper right corner. A "Battery low" prompt appears when energy is insufficient.
Using a travel adapter:
- Install the battery before charging.
- Connect the travel charger adapter to the charging slot, ensuring it's fully inserted.
- Plug the travel charger into an appropriate power outlet.
- During charging, battery level grids flicker until fully charged. The icon stops flickering when charging ends.
- Ensure charger, earphone, and USB cable plugs are inserted correctly to avoid charging failure.
- Verify local mains supply voltage and frequency match the travel charger's rated voltage and power before plugging in.
Optimizing Battery Life
Extend battery life by turning off unnecessary features and monitoring power consumption. Follow these rules:
- Turn off radios (Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth®) when not in use.
- Lower screen brightness and set a shorter screen timeout.
- Turn off automatic syncing for Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, etc., if not needed.
3.2 Connecting Networks and Devices
The tablet connects to mobile networks, Wi-Fi® data networks, and Bluetooth® devices (like headsets). It can also connect to a computer via USB to transfer files from the SD card and share mobile data.
Connecting to Wi-Fi® networks: Wi-Fi® provides wireless internet access up to 100 meters. Go to Settings > Network > Wi-Fi®, check Wi-Fi® to turn it on. The tablet scans for available networks. Secured networks show a Lock icon. Previously connected networks connect automatically.
Connecting to Bluetooth® devices: Bluetooth® is a short-range wireless technology (approx. 8 meters). Common devices include headphones, car kits, and laptops. Go to Settings > Network > Bluetooth®, check Bluetooth® to activate. Pair your tablet with a device before connecting. Once paired, they remain paired unless unpaired. The tablet scans for discoverable Bluetooth® devices.
Connecting to a computer via USB: Use a USB cable to transfer music, pictures, and other files between the tablet's SD card and the computer.
3.3 Using the Touch Screen
Touch-screen tips:
- Touch: Tap items like icons or buttons to interact.
- Touch & hold: Touch and hold an item until an action occurs (e.g., to open a menu).
- Drag: Touch & hold an item, then move your finger on the screen to a target position.
- Swipe or slide: Quickly move your finger across the screen without pausing to scroll or navigate.
Lock screen: When Screen lock is enabled, press the Power key to lock the screen. This prevents accidental touches and saves power. The screen also locks automatically after a period of inactivity if Sleep function is enabled.
Unlock screen: Press the Power key. Touch and slide right on the lock screen to unlock.
3.4 Using the Onscreen Keypad
Enter text using the onscreen keyboard. Some apps open it automatically. Touch a text field to open it. You can also use voice input.
To enter text: Touch a text field. The onscreen keyboard appears. Type by touching the keys. Suggestions appear below the typed word. Use the Delete icon ?️ to erase characters to the left of the cursor. Touch the Back icon ↩️ to close the keyboard.
4 Using the Menus
4.1 Google Chrome
Browse the web quickly, easily, and securely. The browser opens to your home page, with the current web address (URL) at the top.
4.2 Camera
Touch the Camera icon to open the camera. It opens in landscape mode. Touch the camera icon to take a photo. Slide right to switch between photo and video modes.
4.3 Contacts
In the Contacts screen, touch the menu icon to perform operations:
- Contacts to display: Select contacts by group.
- Accounts: Sync with your account.
- Settings: Configure display options.
- Batch delete: Select contacts to delete. Touch "all" and then OK to delete all contacts.
4.4 Gmail Go
Gmail Go is Google's email service: secure, smart, and easy to use. Touch the Gmail icon to access it. If your Gmail account isn't set up, follow a few steps to configure it.
Account setup: Enter your Gmail address and password.
Account settings: Set inbox checking frequency, default sending account, email notifications, sync options (contacts, calendar, Gmail), and automatic attachment downloads over Wi-Fi®.
Compose and sending an email:
- Touch the create icon ✉️ to compose a new email.
- Enter recipient Gmail address(es).
- Touch Menu → Attach file to add an attachment.
- After completing the email, touch the send icon ▶️ to send. Touch the folder icon to check account status. Each Gmail account has five default folders: Inbox, Drafts, Outbox, Sent, and Trash. View sent emails by opening the Sent folder and tapping the refresh icon.
4.5 FM Radio
Plug in compatible earphones to use the FM radio. The earphone cable acts as an FM antenna. Adjust volume appropriately; continuous high volume can be harmful.
4.6 Gallery
Gallery Go is a light, fast, offline gallery optimized for your tablet. Enjoy one-tap editing and automatic organization to easily find your photos.
4.7 Google Play
Google Play offers unlimited entertainment, including movies, TV, books, apps, and games. Explore new content daily.
5 Appendix
