3 Getting started

3.1 Installing the SIM Card

A SIM card contains your mobile number, PIN, PUK, IMSI, network information, contacts, and messages. After powering off the phone, wait a few seconds before removing or inserting the SIM card. Handle the SIM card with care to avoid friction or bending, which can cause damage. Keep SIM cards out of children's reach.

Installation:

  1. Press and hold the power key, then select 'power off'.
  2. Remove the battery cover.
  3. Install the SIM card according to the label.

Note: The SD card is a miniature object and should be kept out of children's reach to prevent swallowing.

3.2 Charging the Battery

The phone monitors and displays the battery state via a battery level icon in the upper right corner of the display. When the battery is low, a "Battery low" prompt appears.

Using a travel adapter:

  1. Install the battery before charging.
  2. Connect the travel charger adapter to the phone's charging slot, ensuring it is fully inserted.
  3. Connect the travel charger plug to a power outlet.

During charging, the battery icon's bars flicker until fully charged. The icon stops flickering when charging is complete. Ensure the charger, earphone, and USB cable plugs are inserted correctly. Incorrect insertion may cause charging failure. Verify that the local mains supply voltage and frequency match the charger's rated voltage and power.

Optimizing battery life:

Extend battery life by turning off unused features and monitoring application power consumption. Follow these rules:

To view battery usage, go to Home screen > Menu icon > Settings > Battery. The Battery Use screen lists applications by power consumption. The top of the screen shows the time since the last charge or current charge duration. Touching an application provides details on its power consumption.

3.3 Linking to the Networks and devices

Your phone connects to mobile networks for voice and data, Wi-Fi® networks, and Bluetooth® devices. You can also connect to a computer via USB for file transfer.

Connecting to mobile networks: Once a SIM card is inserted, the phone is configured to use your provider's mobile networks.

Connecting to Wi-Fi® networks: Wi-Fi® provides internet access up to 100 meters from the router. Go to Settings > Network > Wi-Fi® and toggle Wi-Fi® on. The phone scans for available networks; secured networks have a lock icon. Previously connected networks are automatically joined. Touch a network to connect; for open networks, confirm connection. For secured networks, enter the password.

Connecting to Bluetooth® devices: Bluetooth® enables short-range wireless communication (approx. 8 meters). Common devices include headphones, car kits, and portable devices. Go to Settings > Network > Bluetooth® and toggle Bluetooth® on. Pair your phone with a device before connecting. Once paired, devices remain connected unless unpaired. The phone scans for available Bluetooth® devices. If a device is not listed, make it discoverable.

Connecting to a computer via USB: Use a USB cable to connect your phone to a computer for transferring music, pictures, and other files from the SD card.

3.4 Using the touch screen

Lock screen: In Security settings, press the Power key to lock the screen, preventing accidental touches and saving power. The screen also locks automatically after a preset period of inactivity if Sleep function is enabled.
