ASSEMBLY
Unpack vacuum from the carton and identify the parts shown. Remove and dispose of the packaging.

- Insert canister into motorized floor nozzle until it clicks into place. Figure 1: Shows the vacuum cleaner's portable canister being inserted into the motorized floor nozzle. An arrow indicates the direction of insertion until a click is heard.
- Insert wand into canister until it clicks into place. Figure 2: Depicts the extension wand being inserted into the portable canister. An arrow shows the wand sliding into the canister until it locks.
- Connect handle to wand, pressing until it clicks into place. Connect hose to back of canister until it clicks into place. Figure 3: Illustrates the assembly of the handle to the wand and the hose connection to the canister. Arrows show the handle clicking onto the wand and the hose connecting to the back of the canister.
- Add preferred attachment.

OPERATION
FLOOR CLEANING
- Plug in vacuum. Place foot gently on the floor nozzle and tilt the handle back. Figure 4: A person is shown vacuuming a floor. Their foot is placed on the floor nozzle, and the handle is tilted backward, indicating the starting position for operation.
- Choose setting. Slide power switch to appropriate setting and start cleaning. Figure 5: A close-up of a power switch with three positions labeled: "| Carpet Cleaning", "|| Bare / Above Floor", and "● Off".
BRUSHROLL ON/OFF
- Press the power switch at the top of the canister to the I position to vacuum bare floors (straight suction only) or use Lift-Away® mode. To vacuum carpets and rugs, set the switch to the II position to engage motorized brushroll.
- Press the floor nozzle down with foot and tilt the handle back toward user to engage the brushroll.
PORTABLE LIFT-AWAY® MODE
- Press the Lift-Away® button to lift canister off floor nozzle. Figure 6: This figure shows two parts: one illustrating the "Handle Button" used to detach the handle from the wand, and another showing the "Wand Release Button" used to detach the wand from the floor nozzle. Both are part of the portable Lift-Away mode.
- To clean above-floor areas with the handle, detach it from the wand by pressing the handle button. Refer to Figure 6.
- To clean with a longer reach, detach wand from the floor nozzle by pressing the wand release button. Refer to Figure 6.
- Attach desired cleaning accessory to the handle or wand. Figure 7: Displays various cleaning accessories that can be attached to the vacuum's handle or wand, including a crevice tool, a dusting brush, a pet power brush, and a smaller upholstery brush.
SUCTION CONTROL
Adjust suction control by rotating release collar on handle counterclockwise to reduce suction or clockwise to increase suction. MAINTENANCE
EMPTYING DUST CUP
- Pull up on dust cup release latch and lift dust cup off canister. Empty dust cup after each use. Figure 9: Shows the dust cup release latch located on the top of the vacuum's canister.
- Hold dust cup over a trash bin and press the release latch on the bottom. Figure 10: Illustrates the bottom of the dust cup with a release latch that, when pressed, allows the dust to be emptied into a trash bin.
- Turn dust cup over. Press top dust cup release latch to access dust screen and remove built-up dust and debris as required. Figure 11: Depicts the top of the dust cup being opened by pressing a release latch, providing access to the dust screen for cleaning.
CLEANING FILTERS
PRE-MOTOR (FOAM AND FELT)
With the dust cup removed, take out and rinse foam and felt filters with water. Figure 12: Shows the pre-motor foam and felt filters being removed from the vacuum canister for cleaning.
NOTE: Wash filters every three months to keep the suction strong. Rinse air filters and allow them to air dry completely. Tap loose dirt from the foam filters as needed between washes.
POST-MOTOR (HEPA)
To access the HEPA filter, reach under the grill and pull the filter access latch to remove the grill. Remove and rinse the HEPA filter with water only. Let all filters air-dry completely before reinstalling. Figure 13: Illustrates the location of the post-motor HEPA filter, showing how to access it by releasing a grill.
BRUSHROLL MAINTENANCE
- Detach motorized floor nozzle from portable Lift-Away® canister. Figure 14: Demonstrates detaching the motorized floor nozzle from the main portable Lift-Away canister.
- Remove any string, carpet fibers or hair that may be wrapped around the brushroll. Figure 15: A close-up view of the vacuum cleaner's brushroll, highlighting areas where string, carpet fibers, or hair might get tangled.
