Lightcloud Blue is a Bluetooth mesh wireless lighting control system that allows you to control RAB's various compatible devices. With RAB's patented Rapid Provisioning technology, devices can be quickly and easily commissioned for residential and large commercial applications using the Lightcloud Blue mobile app. Each device in a system can communicate with any other device, eliminating the need for a Gateway or Hub and maximizing the control system's reach.

Safety Information
RAB fixture must be wired in accordance with the National Electrical Code and all applicable local codes. THIS PRODUCT MUST BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE INSTALLATION CODE BY A PERSON FAMILIAR WITH THE CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF THE PRODUCT AND THE HAZARDS INVOLVED.
- WARNING - Risk of fire or electric shock. Install this kit only in the luminaires that have the construction features and dimensions shown in the photographs and/or drawings and where the input rating of the retrofit kit does not exceed the input rating of the luminaire.
- Installation should be performed only by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code and relevant local codes. Do not make or alter any open holes in an enclosure of wiring or electrical components during kit installation.
- WARNING - To prevent wiring damage or abrasion, do not expose wiring to edges of sheet metal or other sharp objects.
- INSTALLATION SHOULD ONLY BE PERFORMED AFTER POWER TO THE FIXTURE HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED.
- These instructions shall be included on an information sheet packaged with each unit.
- This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

Tools needed
This Lightcloud Blue Surface Mount Downlight requires very few tools for installation. A screwdriver and a pair of wirecutters will help to install the downlight to a JBox.

Installing your Lightcloud Blue Device
1. Turn off power
- Place the wall switch in the off position.
- Turn off the main power at the breaker panel or remove the fuse from the fuse box. [Circuit breaker panel with switch in OFF position]
1. Find a suitable location
- Lightcloud Blue devices should be positioned within 60 ft. of each other.
- Building materials such as brick, concrete and steel construction may require additional Lightcloud Blue devices to extend around an obstruction. [Diagram showing device placement and range, with text indicating obstructions like brick/concrete/metal walls may require additional devices]
2. Install the Lightcloud Blue Surface Mount Downlight
2a With JBox
- Make sure the POWER IS TURNED OFF at the source to the J-box in which you are installing.
- Disassemble the surface mount cover. (Fig.1) [Diagram showing disassembly of the surface mount cover]
3. Select desired CCT level using switch. (Fig.2)

4. Insert screws into J-Box holes, leaving about 15mm of space between the screw.

5. Wire the surface mount as below figures. (Fig.4) (Fig.5) (Fig.6)
Once wire connections are made, secure each with a wire nut.

6. Lift fixture to ceiling and carefully tuck wires into J-Box. Align keyholes on surface mount with screws, then twist fixture until the screws engage the narrow end of the keyholes. Tighten screws to secure. (Fig.7)

7. Reassemble the lamp cover. (Fig.8)
Caulk around the mounting surface edge with silicone sealant. (Fig.9)

Note:
- Press the test button, the fixture should operate at reduced lumen output. This means the emergency function is operating as normal.
- The emergency driver will be fully charged after 24 hours of continuous charging. In case of a power failure, the Surface Mount fixture will operate for 90 minutes on emergency battery power.
- When the Surface Mount is only powered by the emergency battery, press the test button twice continuously if need to turn it off. When the mains power is connected, it will automatically return to the normal mode.
TESTING PROCEDURES
- Press the test button to cut the power to the AC driver and switch the system to emergency mode.
- Release the test button to return to normal mode.
- Switch off the circuit breaker to simulate a full power outage.
Monthly
- Ensure that the test button light is illuminated.
- Conduct a 30-second discharge test by depressing the test button.
- The LED load should operate at reduced output.
Annually
- Allow a 24-hour charge before conducting test.
- Ensure that the test button light is illuminated.
- Conduct a full 90-minute discharge test.
- The unit should operate as intended for the duration of the test.
"Written records of the testing shall be kept by the owner for inspection by the authority having jurisdiction.” SERVICING SHOULD BE PERFORMED BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL.
Lightcloud Blue Sensors Factory Settings
Sensors are integrated at the factory and operate in Occupancy mode in their Uncommissioned State. Once paired to the Lightcloud Blue mobile app, the sensor will be disabled. Sensor Settings can be adjusted after being moved into an Area in the Lightcloud Blue mobile app. Once the sensor is enabled in the mobile app, the sensor will respond based on Commissioned State factory settings.

- Sensor status: Enabled
- Motion sensitivity: High
- Brightness when triggered: 100%
- Hold time: 20 Minute
- Daylight harvesting: Disabled
Factory Settings: Commissioned State
- Sensor status: Disabled.
- Motion sensitivity: High
- Brightness when triggered: Last on status
- Hold time: 20 Minute
- When vacant: Off
- Daylight harvesting: Disabled
Controlling your Lightcloud Blue Device
- Confirm your device is powered on.
- Download the Lightcloud Blue app from the Apple® App Store or Google® Play store. [App Store download button] [Google Play download button]
- Launch the App and create an account.
- Tap the "add device" icon in the app to start connecting devices. [Add device icon] [Bluetooth icon]
- Select the Surface Mount Downlight in the app and move it to an Area with other Lightcloud Blue-enabled lights.
- You're all set!

Setting Device to Pairing Mode
If your Lightcloud Blue Surface Mount Downlight is already paired, you can reset it by using the below methods.
Method 1: Delete from App
Open the app and access the device settings for the paired device. Be sure that the downlight is online and select "Delete".
Method 2: Manual
Power the downlight off and on 5 times consecutively. Do not allow less than 5 seconds to elapse from switch off to on, do not allow more than 2 seconds to elapse from switch on to off. The downlight will flash 3 times, then reset to 100% brightness at default CCT. [Lightbulb icon with x5 indicator]
Method 3: Rapid Reset Tool
The rapid reset process must be done by professional electricians qualified by RAB. Reach out to your RAB sales manager to request a Rapid Reset Tool. The tool simply needs to be placed directly on the downlight (as right drawing shows) for 2 seconds. The downlight will flash 3 times, then reset to 100% brightness at default CCT. Configuration
All configuration of Lightcloud Blue products may be performed using the Lightcloud Blue app.
Emergency default
If communication is lost, the Lightcloud Blue Surface Mount Downlight may fall back to a specific state, such as turning the Lightcloud Blue Surface Mount Downlight on.
