Safety Instructions

  • ⚠️ Caution: Avoid touching hot surfaces inside the appliance when it is switched on.
  • Never cover the air inlet and outlet openings while the appliance is in use.

  • The interior is very hot after use; avoid contact.

  • This appliance is for household use only, not for commercial environments (staff kitchens, shops, hotels, etc.).
  • If not in use or cleaning, switch off and unplug the appliance.
  • Allow to cool for 30 minutes before storing or cleaning.
  • Ensure food is golden-brown, not dark or burnt. Remove burnt parts.
  • In case of malfunction, do not attempt self-repair. Activating a safety device may indicate a defect that requires professional attention. Use only original spare parts.
  • Improper use voids warranty.
  • Overheating Safety System: The appliance will automatically shut off if the interior temperature becomes too high. Remove the plug, let it cool, and contact service.
  • Automatic Deactivation: The timer will sound and shut off the appliance at the set time. You can also manually stop cooking by pressing the on/off key.

Operation

Before First Use:

Unpack the appliance, remove all packaging materials and stickers. Keep packaging away from children. Check for any transport damage. Place the appliance on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface. Clean the appliance, insert grille, and basket with a damp cloth and mild detergent. For the first use, run the appliance empty at maximum temperature for 10 minutes to burn off the protective layer on the heating element. Ensure good ventilation during this process, as some smoke may occur.

Stand-by Mode:

The appliance enters stand-by mode when plugged in, if no buttons are pressed for 1 minute, when the timer expires, or when the on/off key is pressed during operation. A sound signal indicates activation.

Switching On/Off:

Press the [1] On/Off key. The appliance only functions if the basket is correctly inserted. Holding the On/Off key for 2 seconds will turn the appliance off completely.

Using the Hot Air Fryer:

  1. Ensure the mains voltage matches the appliance's rating and plug into an earthed socket.
  2. Press the On/Off key [1]. The display will light up.
  3. Carefully remove the basket with the insert grille.
  4. Fill the basket with food, adhering to the maximum capacity guidelines. Never use without the insert grille.
  5. Slide the basket back into the appliance correctly.
  6. Set the desired temperature and time using the control panel buttons.
  7. Press the On/Off key [1] to start cooking.
  8. For best results, shake ingredients halfway through cooking.
  9. The appliance will automatically switch off when the timer reaches zero.
  10. ❗ Caution: The basket and interior become very hot. Handle with care. Beware of hot steam escaping from the air outlet.

Cooking Tips:

  • Smaller ingredients generally require shorter cooking times.
  • Adjust cooking time slightly for larger or smaller quantities.
  • Shaking ingredients multiple times during cooking promotes even results.
  • Avoid extremely fatty ingredients like sausages.
  • Snacks suitable for oven baking can also be prepared in the air fryer.
  • Use an oil spray to lightly coat ingredients for extra crispiness.
  • Use ready-made dough for quick preparation of filled snacks.
  • Place a baking tin or oven dish in the basket for cakes, quiches, or delicate ingredients.
  • Reheat food at 150°C for 10 minutes.
  • Add 3 minutes to cooking time if the appliance is cold.
  • Tomado cannot guarantee optimal settings due to variations in ingredients.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Clean the appliance after each use. Allow it to cool down completely before cleaning.

  • Do not use metal utensils or abrasive cleaners on the basket or insert grille, as this can damage the non-stick coating.
  • Unplug the appliance and let it cool down fully. Cooling is faster if the basket and grille are removed.
  • Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.
  • Clean the basket and insert grille with hot soapy water and a sponge. They are also dishwasher safe. For stubborn dirt, soak in hot soapy water for 10 minutes.
  • Clean the interior with a damp, soft sponge.
  • Remove food residues from the heating element with a soft brush. Be careful with detergent residue.
  • Never submerge the appliance, cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Store the appliance in a clean, dry place after ensuring all parts are clean and dry.

Troubleshooting

  • Appliance not functioning: Check plug connection, basket placement, and timer setting.
  • Ingredients not cooked: Too many ingredients, temperature too low, or cooking time too short. Adjust accordingly.
  • Uneven cooking: Shake ingredients halfway through cooking.
  • Snacks not crispy: Ensure they are suitable for air frying, use oven snacks or oil spray, do not overfill the basket, and check insert grille placement.
  • White smoke: May occur with fatty ingredients or due to fat residue in the basket. Clean the basket thoroughly after each use.
  • Fries not crispy/even: Use floury potatoes, rinse and dry fries well before cooking, cut fries finer, or add a little more oil.
