Water Resistance
For all categories of watches, the following are prohibited:
- Pressing buttons underwater.
- Moving the crown underwater.
- Unscrewing the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it. Do not wear a watch with a leather strap while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Water Resistance Classification
Watches are classified by water resistance rating (from I to V) according to their degree of water protection. Check your watch's rating using the table below to determine its proper usage.
Rating | Case Marking | Splash, Rain, Light Washing | Swimming, Light Washing | Diving, Snorkeling | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT / 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Rating I: Watches are not water-resistant. Avoid any contact with moisture.
Water Resistance Explanations
II WR (Water Resistant): Indicates the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause any problems.
III Water resistance to 5 Bar (50 meters): The watch can withstand the indicated water pressure and can be used during showers and brief swimming.
IV Water resistance to 10 Bar (100 meters): The watch can be used during normal swimming and snorkeling.
V Water resistance to 20 Bar (200 meters): The watch can be used for scuba diving (excluding dives requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Watch Care
- Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
- The rubber gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
- If moisture gets inside the watch, have it checked immediately by your dealer or a CASIO distributor.
- Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures.
- Although designed for active daily use, wear the watch carefully and avoid dropping it.
- Do not fasten the strap too tightly. You should be able to fit a finger between your wrist and the strap.
- To clean the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile agents (e.g., gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners, etc.).
- When not using your watch, store it in a dry place.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, adhesives, paints, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish.
- Some watch models feature silk-screened designs on the strap. Be careful when cleaning these straps to avoid damaging the designs.
For watches with plastic straps:
- You may notice a white powdery substance on the strap. This substance is not harmful to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth.
- Exposure of the plastic strap to sweat or moisture, or storing it in high humidity conditions, can lead to damage, tearing, or cracking. To ensure a long service life for the plastic strap, wipe it clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth whenever possible.
For watches with fluorescent cases and straps:
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade.
- Prolonged contact with moisture can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. If any moisture gets on the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible.
- Prolonged contact with any other damp surface may cause discoloration of the fluorescent color. Check if the fluorescent surface is dry and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Strong friction of a surface with fluorescent paint against another surface may transfer the fluorescent paint to that surface.
In conditions of rapid temperature changes, slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass. This phenomenon is due to the laws of physics and is not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur during the use of this watch and does not accept any claims from third parties.

Operations with the Crown
Some water-resistant watches (100m and 200m) are equipped with a screw-lock crown. Before performing operations with the crown, unscrew it to unlock by turning it towards you, then pull the crown out. Do not use excessive force when pulling the crown. When the crown is unscrewed, the watch is no longer protected from water. After performing the necessary operations with the crown, return it to its normal position and then screw it in to lock.
Diagram: Shows a watch crown labeled 'Crown'. An arrow indicates the action 'Unscrew for unlocking' with a circular motion.
Rotating Bezel
If your watch has a rotating bezel...
Rotate the bezel to align the marker with the minute hand. After some time, you will be able to tell how much time has passed since the marker was aligned with the minute hand.
