About This Manual
Please read this information first.
Battery
The battery installed at the factory discharges during storage in the warehouse and store. When the first signs of battery discharge appear (indicator dims), replace the battery at your CASIO dealer or distributor.
Water Resistance
This watch will resist water penetration under static pressure indicated on the case back (50, 100, or 200 meters), as well as penetration of seawater up to the indicated depth. However, please note that dynamic pressure generated during underwater activities is greater than static pressure. Refer to the following table.
Class | Water Resistance | Splash/Washing | Swimming/Light Use | Diving/Heavy Use |
---|---|---|---|---|
I | No | No | No | No |
II | Water Resistant | Yes | No | No |
III | Water Resistant to 50m | Yes | Yes | No |
IV | Water Resistant to 100m | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V | Water Resistant to 200m | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Water Resistant to 300m | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Class I watches are not water-resistant; avoid getting any moisture in them.
- Do not press buttons or pull out the crown while underwater.
- Buttons can be pressed underwater, but do not press recessed buttons or pull out the crown. If seawater gets on the watch, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it.
- May be used for diving (except for depths requiring helium-oxygen gas mixtures).
- Do not pull out the crown underwater.
- Some water-resistant watches are equipped with leather straps. Do not wear such models while swimming or in any other situation where the strap may be immersed in water.
Precautions for Use
- Do not attempt to open the case or remove the back cover.
- The gasket for water and dust protection must be replaced every 2-3 years. If water or condensation gets into the watch, immediately take it to your CASIO dealer or distributor for repair.
- Do not expose the watch to excessively high temperatures.
- Although the watch is equipped with a shock-resistant mechanism, avoid subjecting it to strong impacts or dropping it on hard surfaces.
- Do not overtighten the bracelet. A finger should fit under the bracelet.
- For cleaning the watch and bracelet, use a soft cloth, dry or dampened with soapy water. Do not use volatile chemical solvents (such as gasoline, solvents, cleaning aerosols, etc.).
- Always store the watch in a dry place when not in use.
- Do not expose the watch to aggressive reactive agents such as gasoline, cleaning agents, aerosols. Chemical reactions with such agents can lead to the deterioration of the gasket, case, and polish.
- Some watch models have their characteristics printed on the bracelet. Be careful not to erase them when cleaning such bracelets.
- For watches equipped with plastic bracelets: You may notice a white powdery residue on the bracelet. This substance is not harmful to your skin or clothing and can be removed by wiping the bracelet with a cloth. If moisture is left on a plastic bracelet or if such watches are kept in a high-humidity environment, the bracelet may warp, crack, or break. To preserve the plastic bracelet, wipe off dirt or moisture with a soft cloth as soon as possible.
- For watches with fluorescent bracelets and cases:
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the fluorescence color to fade.
- Prolonged contact with moisture may cause the fluorescence color to fade. Wipe off moisture from the surface as soon as possible.
- Prolonged contact with other damp surfaces may cause the fluorescence color to fade. Wipe off moisture from the fluorescent surface as soon as possible and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Strong friction of the surface with a printed fluorescent pattern against another surface may cause the printed color to transfer to the other surface.
- CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD is not responsible for claims from third parties that may arise from the use of this watch.
Time Setting
- Pull out the crown at the moment the second hand points to 12, at which point it will stop.
- Set the hands by rotating the crown 4–5 minutes ahead of the desired time. Then return to the correct time.
- Return the crown to its original position in accordance with the time signal.
Backlight
Press and hold the 'L' button to illuminate the watch face. The watch backlight consists of electroluminescent elements, whose brightness decreases with prolonged use. Frequent use of the backlight shortens the battery life.
Illustration description: A watch is shown with a button labeled 'L' (backlight) and a crown labeled 'головка' (crown).
For Watches with Intermediate Time Display
Rotate the intermediate time crown until the minute hand aligns with the marker. After the elapsed time you wish to measure as intermediate time, read the minute hand position on the intermediate time dial. This time will be your result.
Illustration description: A watch dial is depicted with a hand. A separate component is shown, described as the 'Intermediate time dial/crown' (Маховик промежуточного времени).
Some water-resistant models are equipped with a screw-down crown. In this case, before pulling out the crown, you must unscrew it in the direction shown in the illustration. Do not attempt to force the crown. It is also important that such watches are not water-resistant when the crown is unscrewed. Be sure to screw the crown back in immediately after setting the time.
