The KVM cables connect the switch to the computers. They include connectors for Keyboard/Mouse (USB Type A Male), Video (HDB-15 Male), and Speakers (Mini Stereo Plug Male).
Hardware Installation
Important:
- Ensure all connected devices are powered off. Unplug power cords for computers with Keyboard Power On functionality.
- Ensure all devices are properly grounded.
Follow these steps for setup:
- Plug your USB keyboard, USB mouse, and monitor into their respective console ports on the CS62U/CS62US. These are located on the side of the unit.
- Plug your speakers into the speaker jack (if used).
- Connect the USB, video, and audio connectors of the KVM cables to their respective ports on each computer.
- Power on the computers. The switch defaults to the first computer powered on.
Operation
Port Switching
Switch between connected computers using hotkeys or the mouse scroll wheel.
Hotkey Switching:
Tap the [Scroll Lock] key twice to toggle KVM and audio focus between ports. If [Scroll Lock] conflicts with other programs, [Ctrl] can be used instead.
Mouse Port Selection:
Double-click the scroll wheel on your USB mouse to switch between ports. This feature requires a 3-button USB mouse with a scroll wheel and mouse emulation enabled.
Note: This feature is only supported by USB 3-key scroll wheel mice. The default setting is OFF. This feature is only supported when mouse emulation is enabled.
Hotkey Setting Mode (HSM)
To enter HSM, hold [Num Lock], press and release [Minus], then release [Num Lock]. If [Num Lock] + [Minus] conflicts, [Ctrl] + [F12] can be used.
Auto Scanning
For the CS62US model, pressing [Num Lock] + [Minus] + [a] starts auto scan, cycling through ports every 5 seconds. Press [Esc] or [Spacebar] to exit.
