Should your product require service, please consult with the dealer from which it was purchased or contact a local UTV STEREO dealer directly. Units received without an accompanying return authorization number will not be processed. Please contact your UTV Stereo dealer or contact UTV Stereo directly to obtain a return authorization number.
Additionally, you must include a copy of your purchase receipt from an authorized UTV Stereo dealer for consideration of an in-warranty service. Units received without a receipt will be held for 30 days, allowing time to contact you and obtain a copy of the receipt. After 30 days, all units will be returned. Safety Precautions
WARNING - SHOCK HAZARD
- Do not operate the battery charger with a damaged cord or plug.
- Do not disassemble the battery charger. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of electric shock or fire.
- NEVER submerge the battery charger in water. Do not expose it to rain, snow or use when wet.
- To reduce the risk of electric shock, disconnect the battery charger from any power source before attempting maintenance.
WARNING - RISK OF EXPLOSIVE GASES
- The battery charger can produce arcs or sparks. Only use in well ventilated areas.
- Take precaution when using the battery charger in the vicinity of a lead acid battery which generates explosive gases during normal operation.
- Follow these instructions and the instructions of the battery manufacturer to reduce the risk of battery explosion or damage.
WARNING - RISK OF INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE
- Never attempt to charge a frozen battery.
- When disconnecting power, always pull from the plug, not the cord.
- Never allow a spark or flame in vicinity of the battery charger, battery or vehicle's engine.
- Remove personal items such as rings or necklaces, which could create a short circuit that can cause personal injury or property damage.
- Use protective eyewear and gloves to reduce the risk of exposure to battery acid.
- If battery acid comes in contact with skin, wash with soap and water immediately.
- If battery acid comes in contact with eyes, flush immediately with water.
- If redness, pain or irritation occurs from battery acid, seek medical attention immediately.
Operating Instructions
- Connect the terminal rings/clamps directly to the corresponding terminals on the battery posts. Position the RED terminal on the POSITIVE post connector. Position the BLACK terminal on the NEGATIVE post connector.
- Connect the AC power cord to an AC power outlet. Confirm LED indicator is on.
- Connect the 2-pin plugs to begin charging. This will begin the charging process.
- Reference LED indicator for charging status.
LED Status Indicator
- Neither Red or Green light is on: Charger is not properly connected to AC power. Check outlet and your connection.
- Red light flashing: Battery charger has AC power and is functioning correctly.
- Continuous red light flashing: Either the battery voltage is too low or the output terminals are not connected correctly.
- Red light on constant: Battery is connected properly, and the charger is charging the battery.
- Green light flashing: The battery is greater than 80% charged.
- Green light on constant: The charge is complete, and the battery is fully charged.
Figure 1 shows the connection of the charger's 2-pin plugs to the battery terminals. Figure 2 illustrates the LED indicators for power (red flashing for charging, constant red for charging in progress, flashing green for >80% charged, constant green for fully charged) and voltage detection (6V, 12V).
